Made a betty crocker chocolate with 2 cups of Rum. Cake was so saturated it barely absorbed the rum.

Ummmmm. Sounds great
Wooo boyyy
Did you use Meyers dark rum? It has a really good taste to it when using it for cooking purposes. 2 cups seems like a lot to add to a cake mix..
With that kind of recipe, you can have your cake and drink it too!
I don't have rum around on a regular basis, but for the sake of asking do you make the cake as directed on the box then add the rum? Or is just cake mix and rum? Inquiring baker minds want to know 🎂

Rum should go on/in cake after it has baked me thinks.
Add 1/2 the rum to the cake mix and then make a glaze with sugar and add the rest of the rum to the glaze then pour it over the cake when it is baked. Suppose to let sit for 24 hour then refrigerate. Well I got into it a few hours later.
Ist time with chocolate cake usually it is a yellow cake mix.
Interesting… Rum and cake mix

My Mom made the best fruit cake. Second only to her mince meat pie. Miss you Mom.
Well it’s settled, this weekend for a dessert wife and I will make a rum cake, just sounds good,, and Christmasy. Think we will break out the bun cake pan, but use a yellow cake mix wife says.
Thanks select-fire for the dessert idea.
