Very sad. Not too many details in the article though.
End of watch.
Rest in Peace officer Kasberg.
RIP
Thank you for the service sir
Prayes to the family
I can not commet on the accident gun discharge part as I was not there and too easy to be key board comando
Supposedly they were carrying S&W mp 40s , then transition to MP 9s a year ago.
I was gonna say Sig? A Smith, huh?
Wow, that's sad. Prayers for officer Kasberg and his family.
I am a Classic Sig person a totally safe DASA pistol but my guess is a Sig P320.
This should not have happened and it happens enough that I am baffled how there is a single P320 in any holster anywhere

very sad. Competent men and one wrong thing can compound ,…
I knew of a gun dealer that was getting ars out of his truck after a show and grabbed a loaded ( somehow), it was late, he was tired, getting the gun and was pulling it out of the truck, the trigger caught on something, and was shot and killed. Out of maybe 50 guns he was shot by a rifle returning from a show. He was more than careful but I will now walk around a car to bring a gun out butt first,.,
And case that gun in a vehicle,
weird things happen in strange ways. I’m not saying this guy grabbed his gun from the back of a car and it went off but something was not “ordinary” that day or else accidents don’t happen
Any further info of what happened, other than the obvious?
RIP Officer.
Sad but true fact: many LEO are not 'gun people'.
'redacted'
Was a suicide. I didn't say it, but that is what it looked like initially.
Where’s the green font? Working , getting out of his car and commits suicide… Umm
Musta been those Monkeys that were flying that day , Cmon DB
Maybe internet search the officers name. Don't come jack me up when you are wrong.
A internet search of his name brought up several news stories. Apparently he was under investigation for video recording a female teenager in a restroom, in a neighboring town. The day after formal allegations he committed suicide while on duty.
The gun is cleared of allegations of just going off.
Very sad story.
I stand corrected. Suicide because of a hidden recording device… sad
My first wife's father was a deputy sheriff.
His job was to serve papers and fill in as bailliff.
Sometime after she and I split, he stuck his gun to his head in the family dining room.
Never head why.
