Announcement: Upcoming Changes to GunBroker's Forums

Dear GunBroker Forums Community,
We’re excited to share that our forums are transitioning to a new software platform integrated with GunBroker's Help Center. Our Support, Marketing, and IT teams have worked together to ensure a smooth and improved experience for all members.
What’s Changing?
- New Name: The forums will now be called Community.
- New Hosting Provider: The Community will be hosted by the same provider as our support system, ensuring seamless integration and reliability.
- Access Requirements: As with the current forums, all topics will remain open for public viewing, but only registered GunBroker users in good standing will be able to post or comment. Community Guidelines still apply!
Transition Details
We’ve been migrating content from the current forums to the new Community platform over the past few months, starting with posts from October 2024 and working backward. A full backup of all existing forums data will take place from January 24–27, ensuring the latest discussions are included.
How to Access the New Community
Currently, users can access the forums at forums.gunbroker.com. With the new system:
- This URL will redirect to the new Community platform starting January 27.
- The new Community link will be: https://support.gunbroker.com/hc/en-us/community/topics
- Users can also find the Community link on the GunBroker website by clicking the Help link in the header.
- If you bookmarked forums.gunbroker.com, it will still direct you to the Community Forums.
Key Dates
- Soft Launch (Beta): January 14
- The new Community is now live for beta testing.
- Existing content from before November 2024 is available to view.
- You may need to update your profile name and photo by clicking your name in the header.
- Some members may not yet be active on this beta platform, so any posts you make may not be seen by all the regular members.
- If you post on this new site, comments will not be copied to the current site.
- Forums Blackout: January 24–27
- Forums will be temporarily inaccessible during this period as we finalize the migration. A maintenance page will be displayed at forums.gunbroker.com.
- Go Live: January 27
- The new Community will officially launch.
- The old forums URL will redirect to the new platform.

I would like to know how getting rid of the PM feature is helpful? A lot of us use it to check in on each other. Or when a member wasn't feeling well we were able to PM addresses so we could mail cards.

Ditto. How can it be called "enhanced" when all they've done is eliminate our ability to communicate with each other and require redoing profiles and God only knows what other "enhancements" (sure wish there was still green font .… another "enhancement" that was stripped).
I will probably be gone I don't even keep an active email account anymore.
