256 win mag

Is anyone making brass or ammo for the 256 win mag? I can't find any and what I'm making from 357 brass isn't turning out the best.

    varian,

According to the practitioners, anneal first then use a .30 Mauser die to start the neck and finish with the .256 die.

    Best.

Be sure to use brass cases not nickle plated ones, you'll lose too many in the neck down. I did this for my Marlin lever gun 30+ years ago and with fresh brass and light lube was able to go straight into the .256 die without the intermediate step. One trick I found was that after the round was loaded I needed to pass them thru a carbide .357 die with the center spindle removed for easier chambering.
