Deer Gun closed befoe I had a chance to thank all of you for the info. I don't know much about antiques but a 100 year old gun sounded a little scarey to me. I'm going to try to get her in a Winchester 30-30. I'de like one myself. If not, a Savage in a modern caliber would work. BTW, she is a deer huntin' great grandma from Nebraska. Can't say how old she is but she calls me "son". I'm 62!Thanks again,Jeff

    He Dog, Great Savage site - thanks. That gun of hers was made in 1895! You would never know that by looking at it.

    Wow...that makes it a model 1895...a fewe years before it became the model 1899,and then later the '99'.Her rifle was actually built by MARLIN,for Savage. .218

    Bee, Any idea what it might be worth. It has the appearance of a 20 year old rifle in average condition.
