Hello:
Did Winchester ever make a 101 with stainless barrels?
If so what was the model designation, or identifying hall marks.
Thanks

The shotgun was advertised as stainless. I have since seen the actual shotgun, and it was just a plain jane model. I had never heard of a stainless 101 before, so I was naturally interested.
Thanks

Winchester 101's post-date the stainless steel barrels of the 1920's (which were finished in black) and pre-date modern stainless steel barrel technology.

Funny thing about "gun sellers" you take a gun that's been out of production for a while (Md 101 last made 87/88) Most can't tell you anymore than what's stamped on the gun. They see a "coin finish" and assume it must be stainless. It gets real bad on pre-64 Winchester shotguns, they don't know standard barrel lengths or how to measure them, much less use a choke gauge to measure the choke on a fixed choke model. LOL
Regards to all
