Pursuing the anti-gun activist when he was obviously trying to get away from the situation doesn't do the "pro-gun" position any good. It was overly aggressive IMO, the initial footage was sufficient, it wasn't necessary for multiple people to pursue him all the way to his vehicle.

Link to the story that goes with the video:
    http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2014/05/guns-open-carry-texas-harassment-marine-veteran

The followed the guy to his car, got his license plate number and contact info and declared they would ruin him. Yeah, that's the face we want in the public eye of gun owners. A bunch of loud mouthed jerks who will threaten you over your wrong headed opinion.

The pro-gun guys should have kept their mouths either shut, or smiled and been polite. Instead all they accomplished was to make more ammunition for the anti-gunners about how gun owners are crazy people.

There is NOTHING that is going to change the anti-gun crowds mind ever. The thought process for their position is simply backwards within them. They have faith in government, faith in the laws of our Society, faith in their fellow mans good intentions and faith the law will keep them safe. They can't see the folly of trusting inherent evil.

Even if true, why act out in a manner likely to add to their numbers?

It's just bad tactics - Imagine it's like a football game. Both sides want to win but Team Red figures they'll never convince Team Blue to just up and let them. So, Team Red blindfolds their quarterback and a few players leave a shoelace untied. Just because they can, because it's their Right to use tactics that make their chance of winning smaller.

If anti-gunners are looking for a confrontation to put up on YouTube, never ever give them one. Give them nice family folks being polite, ignoring any insult. Give them the Flag, Mom & Apple Pie scene, not the yelling and throwing insults back at them scene.

Just stop doing stuff that grows the problem, that's all.

Maybe its just me, but in my 40 years or
so on the planet, Ive never felt the need
to walk around with an UNLOADED weapon.

Sad, a lot of these open carry folks are as
    dumb as the anti's.

Sorry, Dennis,(I live in Texas too) but whats
    the point?

Open carry of handguns is now a issue in Texas when it never has been before. Nobody honestly cares or not if you've felt the need to. You aren't the creator of our Constituion thank God.

It takes two, at a minimum, to have an argument, and only one to end it.

Its bad PR. If the goal is to convert some moderate, non firearm owners, or folks just not interested in guns to understanding the Constitution, an up in your face tactic is not going to work. Other than harassing one windbag liberal I don't see what they accomplished.

In your face tactics have worked well for the left, or haven't you noticed who's in power now? The rational and low key tactics are the ones that obviously haven't worked.

Apparently the video was edited to make the pro guys look bad. The guy originally came up and got in their face. Probably looking to start something.

He may have wanted them to do just as they did, so they would in turn look bad.

Seems the anti-gun crowd is up to the same shady trickery.
