I've been telling people for over twenty years that China is America's enemy, but do people listen? NOPE! Americans just keep on pouring the country's wealth and jobs into the enemy's pockets!

And now the Chinese are after all the fermented grape juice!!!

Then don't sell wine to them, and quit buying stuff overthere.

    How hard can it be.?

    Shortage? Surplus?

It really depends upon the source:

In reality there will never be a surplus of first growth Bordeaux. Other wines, not so much.

All the while posting about it on a PC likely made overseas, through a Chinese wireless router, while sipping coffee grown in South America, from a house made of Canadian lumber, all of which were bought by driving a vehicle to and from work, that is probably consists of 75% Japanese, Mexican, Italian, or German parts.

But I agree, China is our enemy.

I agree, there's something we have zero chance of not getting from them. Doesn't mean we should settle for the constant shift of jobs and economic vitality away from us on absolutely every front. Nor help them destroy us when we have other options.

Your definition of a mere Competitor does not fit the reality of the situation.

The Chinese military maintains a massive hacking operation to steal corporate secrets from American companies. To aid their economy and destroy ours, to make it subservient to their economy.

A Competitor offers a product, tries to beat the competition on price and performance.

Stealing technology knowledge to aid your company is the act of a criminal. Using an National Army to steal is the act of an ENEMY.

Ironically, they are winning the competition by a landslide, especially in the manufacturing sector.

Where is the irony? Government at all levels is handing manufacturing over to the Chinese along with trillions of dollars in weath and millions of jobs.

You haven't seen anything yet, just wait until they start flexing their economic muscle, we won't be bitching about their/our grape juice [;)]. We've been sold into future slavery by our national elected officials [:(!].
