I've been in "Luger world" for the past couple hours. You think you know enough to keep your head above water in the gun-info world and someone walks in with a Luger. Its been a minute since I've dealt with any of these. I wish I had grabbed up a few of them when they came in the store every once in a while. It seems I never see them any more.

Wood or metal or Bakelite Mag base???
Percentage of straw finish left on trigger guesstimate???
I would love to see it with the grip panels removed to check for frame markings and pencil on panel obverses...
Not a criticism - it's nice.

I think you have a 1920 Commercial.
And a wide centered trigger for better ambidextrous use???
The chemo had killed to many brain cells for me to be certain.
I would have to check my reference library - it's not my off the top of my head area of expertise.

Last night I saw there are 1900 and 1900 Swiss....I thought this one was the "non Swiss" version of the 1900 because the serial number and markings are the same to similar guns I saw on a few forums.
There is SO MUCH to these and so far between dealing with them its like driving someone else's stick shift for a couple miles before you get into "the groove" when you deal with them.
Looking at the various info out there.....the 1900 had a 4.75" barrel and they switched to a 4" barrel for the 1920 guns.
The serial number range for the 1900's DWM are from 2000-19000.....so this is in that range and has the 4.75" barrel.
I'm confused. HELP!!! [:D]
I have physical recovery therapy and some obligations to do first...
I will also post up the titles of the 3-4 best Luger reference works I have so other might pursue them or purchase them on Amazon.
Usually someone here has a better and quicker answer than I can give from memory - but if you or any other member needs some research assistance I can and will help if given a little time upon request.
