The name pistol is older than the semi-auto action. I always find this discussion interesting. But then I still use shells, clips and various other apparatus's that other would cringe at the thought of.
Some will die in hot pursuit
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
Not on the list but I would vote off the .22 long (If anyone still makes it.) I would like to be able to buy .22 BB or CB caps. I did see some recently but they were priced @ a DOLLAR a round. WHEW!

I don't hate the 10mm rounds, I just don't have any firearms that shoot it.
Your original list did specify pistol cartridges. (and yes I am being technical) Several of your original list are only revolver calibers. They are not pistol calibers.
Therefore the .38 special/.357 magnum and the .44 magnum are not technically pistol cartridges they are handgun cartridges and are also more properly revolver cartridges.
just saying.... (Cause I used to get called out on it all the time...) All of the .22 can go in all three categories...
flame on.,,
You would think the person that runs a big gun auction site should know revolvers were pistols long before semi-autos were ever dreamed of.

The .22, 9mm and 44 is all one would need on the Island Manhattan.
If you were allowed to own one [:D]
Slow - heavy - limits magazine capacity - oversized - out of date - irrelevant - heavy recoil - poor performance...
I would have thought that there would have been a more vociferous objection to its retention on the list with more modern and up to date alternatives.
