A persons income is something you should never ask about[V]
why not?...its a way to get to know folks around here....right?

Wrong, If what a person makes is what makes a person in your eyes, then you my good man are a very shallow, pathetic person. what you and your wife made this past year combined wouldn't hardly cover my entertainment costs. But that doesn't make me, nor does what you and your wifes income make you. It's what is inside a person that makes him/her what he/she is, not what he/she makes.

Now if you want to know what type a man I am... I'd still evade the question by telling you that it doesn't matter what a person thinks about him/herself, it's what the people around a person thinks of him/her that matters. So if you want to get to know someone, then ask his/her friends, neighbors, family and people they do business with what they think of him/her

you're clearly fishing for ammunition to use against people.

you've already denigrated people who dont want to tell you as being on public assistance.

the bottom line is that is crass, rude, and socially unacceptable to ask someone how much money they make.

I don't think that's the important question. I make good money, but I have sacrificed a lot to make it. I have worked 80-90 hour weeks, 7 days a week usually, for 32 years. I drive 90,000 to 110,000 miles a year, and have for 32 years.

It has cost me an arm and a leg, literally. It has aged me prematurely. Stress is a normal part of my day.

If I had it to do again I'd do it much differently, because one thing I've learned is that no matter how much money you make, it's not enough. It's like chasing a mirage.

I won't say what I make, but I will say that due to the sale of one of my businesses last year, come tax time I will be writing a check to the IRS for somewhere around $125,000 to $150,000 this year.

Today's generation want it given to them. Have no clue what hard work is.Then they get mad because you have worked, earned it and have a nice lifestyle. They can all go pound sand.

I don't understand why the question was asked, and I don't understand why the topic deteriorated into threats and name-calling.

If anyone wants to know what I make, it's a matter of public record. You just have to know who to ask.

We eat regularly, have a roof over our heads, clothes to wear, vehicles to drive, and if we need medical care, we can pay for it. That's about it, and that's enough.
