I've gotta say gifilte fish. That's a Jewish delicacy. It is also one of the single most disgusting things that anyone has ever created. I can't help but wonder how cold whitefish suspended in a clear, thick gelatin can remotely be edible. Nowadays, I see a jar in a grocery store and come close to the dry heaves.

    My folks love the stuff.

But, I don't normally eat Mom's cooking anymore. When she wants to get together, we usually just invite them to our house or we go out.

Egad, I've got the dry heaves now just typing about it. [xx(][xx(][xx(]

Spent a couple week in China a few years back. I ate a 1000 year old egg...which is an egg soaked in horse urine and burried in the ground for an extended period of time. Also drank some snake wine, and ate several things I have no idea what they were...

The worst was my ex's cooking. We used to have a saying at our house--"If there's smoke, there's dinner". One time I couldn't get dinner down, so I fed it to the dog(on the sly). Afterwards, the dog was laying in the kitchen licking his butt. The ex asked, "What's that crazy dog doing"? I told her that I thought he was just trying to get the taste out of his mouth.[:p]

Well my niece went to Mexico on a mission trip. Built houses with her youth group. She brought back a back of fried grasshoppers with lime. They were tasty but took a little getting used to.

Freshwater Mussels. I was camping with friends on the St. Johns River drunk as a skunk. I saw an otter eating one and pointed it out. My friends dared me to eat one so I did. Soon after I was chumming the water. Disgusting things, but if your hungry enough I guess you could live on them.

Probably tripe, only I found it quite good.....

Calimari is actually really good, too, if it's good quality meat and done right. Otherwise, it's like chewing rubber bands in both taste and texture.[xx(]

    Escargot were pretty gross....

Lamb Fries. Tried an order while in Ft. Worth at a well known steak house a few years ago. Nastiest thing I ever put in my mouth. My son loved them though. [xx(]

The bar I work at serves what they call the "Duke Burger" The other night a guy ordered a Triple Duke (the record before was a double Duke, two large fries and 24 beers). This guy ate a Triple Duke in just over an hour. Just to give you an idea, a triple Duke is over 4 lbs of hamburger, plus bun, cheese, onion, etc. They are good, but I think that guy was sorry the next day.[:D]

Was traveling on a team sports trip to a basketball game while in high school and we stopped at the beach for lunch. One of the guys found a small sand crab and brought it back to the bus. Some of the guys bet me I wouldn't eat it alive. I told them to put up some money or shutup. They came up with a little over 25.00 and I ate the thing whole.
I could feel it trying to climb back out for along time -- yuck. -- But as they say "that made me the winner", and 25.00 was alot of money in those days....[^]

Where is this bar? Sounds like I need to go on a field trip.

The absolute worst thing I've ever eaten was at one of the top rated restaurants in Chicago if not the Country. It's name is TRU. I had a magnificent rack of Lamb and all the trimmings, everything was incredible and as I was eating every last scrap of other "stuff" on the plate, I speared a small "oyster" looking item that looked as tasty as everything else I had just eaten. WRONG!!! It was a lamb kidney. YUCK!! It was the worst thing I've ever eaten!! And I'll eat darn near anything! Never Ever will I eat anything that looks even close to a Lamb Kidney!

I thought BBQ'ed dog, cat, cocroaches was the worst - or even Cobra snake...
    But they weren't half bad...

Can't think of anything really freaky I've tried..
Other than perhaps bloodsausage or.. powdered mashed potatoes for some reason. Never did get the hang of that stuff.
