I was contemplating and perusing over the wide varied assorted arry of libations availible to me, here in my humble abode, when it struck me that I was out of my most treasured amphora, Jamison Single Malt. And this, on the very eve of my anniversery of life! What next? No Marsh and Wheeler's in the humidor?? I am curious though, as to what my fellow posters imbibe upon.....

I prefer to sip on Jack Daniels. It has a certain taste, or a certain "bite" that is not commonly found in other bourbons or whiskeys. And as far as the humidor goes, a nice cohiba is my perferred stick.

I'm actually a Rum man myself. Hey, maybe somebody out there can help me out with this Rum question I have... Has anyone ever had a rum called "Paul's"?It's a clear bottle with a white label (if i remember right) and Paul's is written in cursive font. I had it many years ago and I swear it was the best stuff i ever had. I asked at local liquor stores but can't seem to find it. Any help?

Glenfiddich, special reserve but can only afford it rarely.

Sweet tea! Now that I'm past 50 I use green tea... Antioxidents and all you know!Pepto is reserved for special occasions, though I hear NJ and Mudge prefer it to water.Oh - I hear Killians is pretty tastey, but I'd never sully my lips with such!Ain't gettin' fun???

The only booze I can get past my lips is Baileys, and Kahlua, with lots of milk. If I can taste the alcohol, my lips and stomach want nothing to do with it.

Good gin and store brand tonic with lime or lemon sits better than beer, wine or the hard stuff. Have to ration it because alcohol relaxes the esophageal sphincter allowing acid reflux to burn the esophagus.

The most enjoyment or "utility" (as an economist would say) that I have experienced with an adult beverage was during a cold winter when my girlfriend's parents warmed up some Gluhvein (sp) and added cranberries, almonds and spices. It was very delicious.

I kick back with Gentleman Jack on the rocks. A little more smooth than Jack Black, but not too much.

O.J. thinned with a little of the under the counter stuff is always good. If you like bailey's try Carolins (sp) it's much smoother.

Matt -I'm with you on the good single malt thing. My favorite is The Glenlivet (Glenfiddich a close second). Never tried Jamison.Lots of people tend to judge all Scotch after only trying a blend. Bar Scotch, in my opinion, is useful only for paint removal, with even the spendier blends such as Chivas Regal and J. Walker Black not much better.A good single malt Scotch is an entirely different critter, altogether.

A good pint of ale will do for this Scotch-Irish lad. Also, have to agree with .280 on the single malt scotch, Glenlivet rules. Boomer

When venturing out amongst the unwashed masses a very cold glass of Amber Bach will do nicely. Before and during a fine meal a 7-7 is called for. Nightcaps are reserved for White Russians. A hearty rose' during all three stages of grilling animal flesh will usually get me through just fine.

Geez Kimberkid, might as well drink water! I like beer best, preferably German Hefe Weiss. But, I also enjoy Bombay Sapphire Gin or Tanquerey with tonic and a lime.Anybody ever have a Swedish Qualude (sp?). 1 shot vodka, 1 shot Irish Creme and 1 shot Chambord. It's like a spike chocolate-cherry milkshake. I only had that once, in Chicago, but it was really good.

These are my preferred, but given my profession I imbibe in thousands of different "adult beverages" every year.Beer - Yuengling Lager or Guinness on tap Booze - Pierre Ferrand Cognac Abel Wine - 1969 Red Burgundies from the Hautes Cotes de Nuits Soda - Coke (traditional recipe) Coffee - Torrefacto Roast, Black and strong Water - ApollinarisI used to smoke Camel Rare and Arturo Fuentes, but now I smoke Nicoderm CQ patches.I ran a very similar post on my usual haunt; http://www.1911forum.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=9318 [This message has been edited by Shinglekill (edited 01-25-2002).]

Any of the Maddog offerings, preferably from a vintage of 2 to 3 weeks ago, served in the bottle in a crisp paper bag and consumed amongst the dumpsters behind 7-11.

Knob Creek 100 proof (9 years) just an ounce or so and if my prety wife isn't around a nice Henry Clay cigar to go with the awesome bourbon since both are Kentucky names. Salud!

It's similar to Scotch only a little less offensive. You have to squeeze the baboon to extract the juice.

I probably don't have ten drinks a year but in Summer Old Overholt Rye whiskey or Tequila and tonic, in winter Irish coffee or a bit of Bushmill's. A six pack will last me half a year, usually an import.

SaxonPig - Back when it was OK to admire dead, white male writers, I came across a story about Ernest Hemingway and daquaris. There was a young reporter who wanted an interview with Hemingway and, after many attempts, finally had one granted. The reporter, a teetotaler, learned that it would be wise to be ready to drink with the great man and that the daquari was Hemingway's favorite drink. For some weeks prior to the meeting, the young writer forced himself to drink several daquaris a day. The interview was set to take place at Hemingway's residence at Key West. The reporter showed up riight on time at 11 AM. Hemingway greeted him and asked if he might get him something to drink. Proudly, the young man said, "Why, yes, I'll have a daquari." To which Hemingway supposedly replied, "Good God, man! At this hour?"

My favorite is a pepsi, but the doctor says I can`t have it.Mountain dew is next, but I can`t have it either.A good hot cup of coffee would be nice but you guessed it, I can`t have it.Can`t have anything with caffeine or alcohol.Even if the caffeine or alcohol has been removed like caffeine free pepsi or sharps beer,I`m not supposed to have it.Occasionally he said I could sneak a beer and when I do it`s an ice cold Miller.
