I'm running out of forums.

edited April 2013 in General Discussion
There are about half a dozen firearm discussion forums that I regularly pop into. At least there used to be that many. In the past month I have abandoned three of them.

One is a forum where a lot of serious collectors hang out. One day a member from Arkansas posted a photo of Sid McMath as an Army officer during WW II seated at a table looking at a map. On the table was a pre-war S&W revolver. Everybody went on and on about how cool the gun was and what a great guy Sid McMath was.

Well, if you don't recall the name, McMath was the scumbag lawyer who started suing gun companies when their guns were used by criminals. He wanted to put the gun companies out of business. McMath was a screaming liberal who got elected governor of the state where he pursued every liberal ideal including gun control. When I noted this on the forum I caught all sorts of hell from people defending McMath. IMO they stood up for him because he had that cool pistol. Well, the upshot was that the AR member who posted the photo admitted that he spoke with McMath 20 years ago and he said the revolver wasn't his. He never owned any guns. I logged out after that and won't return.

Then on another forum there are a lot of cops. That's fine by me, but one LEO member has this real "Us vs Them" attitude and if you aren't a cop he thinks it's his duty to harass you endlessly and tell you all about how you are wrong and don't know anything about anything. I got tired of his crap and haven't been back in a while. Maybe never.

Now this morning I quit a forum because of the excessive rules and the immature moderators. You can't say this... you can't say that... They are so tight assed on that forum with so many limits on what is OK to post it's no fun. If you do say something out of line (and the lines are so narrow I can't go two days without crossing one) you get a PM from a moderator titled "YOU HAVE RECEIVED AN INFRACTION." Jeez, it's like being in the first grade. Then when you read the message, the moderator insults you and calls you names. The lunatics are in charge of the asylum over there.

This last one was the result of my posting a comment where I said "dang" then added (is it OK to say dang?) as joke. Well, I get the YOU HAVE RECEIVED AN INFRACTION message because I asked if the word dang was OK. The moderator called me names and insulted me and I guess the hypocrisy is lost on him. This one also included stern instructions on how to follow orders that sounded like it came from a Nazi general. What a bunch of dweebs.

If I get kicked off this forum I'll have nowhere at all to waste my time.

I joined the Marlin forum and was kicked offed after my first post. All I asked was what a gun was worth and could I advertize it their for a local sale. They sent me a nasty email and asked me not to return. The forum sucked anyway and was run by a bunch of Nazi's.

I also joined another forum but it was run by a bunch of immature little kids that used to be on here. I don't visit there anymore because of all the foul language in every post. Does everyone need to curse all the time to get his point across??? Makes you sound very little. JMHO

You could give us a link to that forum so we can have some fun

Also, was it AR15.COM? I dont post there but I see the mods step in with posts like they are Refs or judges. "this topic is not in line but I will allow it". I dont even bother to start an account there.

    TFL?
I rec'd an "infraction" from one of the mods there. It was rude and threatening. he then went on to say what kind of person he thought i was: "ignorant and uneducated" and some other nazi-esque drivel
so I copied and pasted his reply into my next post, and they banned me for LIFE!!

I hung out at one forum and got jumped for not being conservative enough, then got jumped by the happys for not supporting their agendas and then there was one vicious little tard who was both happy and far right [8]. They'd back channel and then gang attack. I must have sucked them into two dozen ambushes, got tired of it all and left.

My social skills suck.[:D] I thought it was a car forum and the object of the whole thing was to find solutions to their truck problems, not back stab and fight all the time. No wonder their trucks don't run, they all try to intimidate their cars into behaving themselves.

True, but there is a difference in swearing in person as opposed to swearing in print. In person it can reflect your upbringing, your time in the military or your passion for the subject while not thinking about your wording, but in print you have to think about what you type. So I feel that to use vulgar language in print reflects much more poorly on your social and debating skills.

Maybe I missed this "Bunny Boob" post I'm seeing referenced in various posts ?

I did a search for "Bunny Boobs" using Google and found pictures where women had rabbits nestled in their cleavage. Cute, silly, the women were smirking about them.

I like the Kate Upton pic for it's "Whatever ..." look. The bunny ears and Easter theme make it a good seasonal fit.

Plus it's a fine looking lady with a great attitude, from what little I've heard about her anyway.

If that's not allowed anymore ... OOPS!

Some of the most talented and successful writers in history could also speak with language vulgar enough to make lilies blush and canaries gasp. Hemingway and Steinbeck come to mind.

corvetteforum is controlled by a bunch of cops as mods who have the us and them perspective. You say anything, a lifetime ban is nothing short of commanded if you happen to prove one of them made a mistake or was incorrect.

God forbid you just comment on how you do it and how you are happy with it. I bit the big ban for simply stating that I would rather have a 147 gr bullet in my cc gun than a 115 gr ball. I was told I was stupid, and knew nothing about guns and how some would be ashamed to be so ignorant of guns. I simply post a few links to several 147gr self defense rounds that were available and POOF. I was a gonner. Life time ban for calling out the mod.

Go figure. Never has a poof, a lock, a warning. Nothing.

NOW they have new owners and then send me email constantly. I just keep email them saying I have a lifetime ban, stop emailing me your junk. They never asked me to come back, but I am pretty sure the new people are trying to get back the people they know were dismissed wrongfully. They just don't want to admit it.

Did one of those forums happen to be,

    http://www.wehrmacht-awards.com/forums/index.php ???

You can get an infraction for doing nothing wrong at all. One mod had such a hard on for me he gave me an infraction for asking questions about an item for sale there with a guy I had bought from before. He thought I was just bumping the post but I was an interested buyer. I sent him proof or purchase but the infraction still stood because they, get this...

Cannot un due an infraction they give out LOL

This was by the same mod who wanted to debate chemtrails by baiting me into a debate that I never took the bait over. He had planned to give me another infraction for violating off topic rules.
