I was on one of the forums that is dedicated to a particular type of obsolete military rifle. I have several of these guns, and I have brought some of them from the category of mediocre shooters into the territory of 'excellent', by the use of barrel channel shims. But the forum was inhabited by 'originality' freaks who would not tolerate the idea of even arresting the flaking of the stock finish, and they would get mean about it. Lordy.

There need to be rules in all things. But when the rules get so tight that you spend most of your time trying to figure out if what you are typing will be acceptable it's no fun. Also, when the rules don't apply to those in charge, and they are free to make snarky, insulting comments but you are not then it's no good.

There is such a forum, started a few years ago by a few x members from here that feel the same way you do,it's not hard to find. It also remains somewhat small though, because most people are repulsed by the language and behavior that you want to display.

No one wanted to go there.
