I'm puzzled how it could possibly work on your good side? Doesn't your foot take the weight then? I had a sprained ankle, so I probably did need crutches, as someone said.....

Used on the good side you lean into the cane to take the weight off the injured leg. It swings forward naturally as the off hand swings forward with the opposite leg, so it is a natural walking motion.
