Favorite .22 you've shot?

I'm sure everyone's shot lots of .22's in their time. So what's your favorite and why? Let's stick to stock models and leave modifications out of it.

I'll go with the Marlin model 60. I love its speed, accuracy, and capacity.

Not sure of the model #, but it was a Savage. It was my Grand-dads and I still have it locked away in the back of the safe. Big, heavy, clip-fed, bolt action. He taught me to shoot with it. Looks similar to a Garand (honest!) Will have to dig it out tomorrow and get the model number.

I really enjoy my marlin coast to coast model 40. It was made in 1971 and still shoots amazing groups with iron sights.

Had a model 39 Marlin that just fit and shot to the mark everytime it went off. Now I realy have a soft spot for 2 Rugers both 77/22's one long rifle and the other is a Mag and they feel pretty good I did a trigger job on both and float the barrels. There the blue with walnut I could just shoot them all day.

The only one I've owned, a Buchmark Standard 5.5" barrel.
Accurate to as far as you can see (clearly).

The barrel sides are flat. Is this what they call a "bull barrel"?

    Toss up between a Nylon 66 & Mossberg 152.
Both accurate, probably the 66 because of the light weight & higher cap.

Remington 513s with Weaver J-4 scope, the envy of all of my compadres when I bought it in 1948. One friend offered to trade me his 1937 Ford humpback for it.

First gun was a marlin 60. It's almost worn out now. The 3rd gun I owned is a ruger 10/22, still my favorite among all my guns.

My Winchester 1890 pump .22 short 1st model because it just feels so good to shoot it and it hits the mark.

Second would be my $15 piece of crap Marlin 995 clip fed semi-auto w/tasco 4x scope because it is all too accurate and is a squirrel killer. It's an ugly thing but it ranks second although it's the .22 I shoot the most out of all of them.

Pack slow, fall stable, pull high, hit dead center.

Hmm, for actual shooting I'd have to be the Ruger 10/22. For nostalgia purposes, my dads OLD octagon barrel winchester pump.

My Pardini SP. This thing just fits my hand incredibly well. Everytime I pick it up, I keep thinking about what a great deal I got on a gun that just fits my hand so perfectly (and with stock grips!)

My Remington 582 bolt action tube fed. I'd have to say it's the most accurate .22 i've ever shot. It's more accurate than the 10/22 bull barrel I had at one time.

I'd say my present Ansh?tz, model 1451, threaded for silencer (originally).

    Extras:
    7 magazines 10-shot capacity
    1 magazine 5-shot capacity
Schmidt & Bender 1.5-6*42 scope in steel rings
    Harris Bipod
One original silencer and one homemade silencer
Alucase to store everything in (long enough to let the silencer stay on it.)

It makes 10 shot groups at 60 metres/65yards within less than ?".
That was the best group - without the bipod actually.

    It's MOB as well..
Minute of Beercan at little over 100 metres. [:)]

That's a tough question. I don't think I've met a .22 that I didn't like! Of the examples I own now, my Marlin A1 would have to be my favorite, though just barely. (Thanks to Antique Dr. for helping me with the ID!) My Remington 514 and my Mossberg 151 are sentimental favorites and are both very enjoyable, too.

Favorite that I own is a winchester 63 I hit good with it

My favorite of all time Was a 06 winchester of my budies. when we were 14-15 we put thousands of rounds through those two guns. we thought it was great to speed pump the 06. It may just be fond memories of a time past when we had time to get together and do alot of shooting

It seems alot of posts on this topic have memories attached[:)]

Winchester 62 my DAD bought it ($55.00 I think) for my brother who never cared for guns. A few years later I took it and told him he could use it any time and I would keep it clean for him.

I can't remember what model it is but my dad has a pair of Stevens tube fed semiautos. Those old guns have taught just about everyone in the family how to shoot. Plus I can outshoot my 10/22 with them

    Someday when I'm cool I'll have a .50

    1. Winchester Model 1885 Single-shot (high-wall) 30" No. 3 octagon barrel, single set trigger, Lyman No. 5B front sight, No. 2 tang sight... it shoots them in the same hole at 50 yards.[^][:p][^]

    2. Ithaca Model 49 Saddle Gun (this was my first rifle). I have shot tens of thousands of rounds through it since it got it for Xmas in 1966 (my sentimental favorite)[:D]

    3. Winchester Model 1890 slide-action... this is the 22 rifle that all others aspire to be[^]

    4. Winchester Model 75 Target Rifle... damn near as accurate as my high-wall[^]

    5. High Stanadard Military... best 22 caliber pistol I have ever shot[^]

My dad gave me my initial firearms training on his Remington 512 Sportmaster. It is the most accurate .22 rifle I have ever fired. I would love to acquire one of my own, because God willing I won't be getting my dad's for a good many years!
