Twelve years old..a long time ago..was the first time.Bank robbers had made a run for it,and were reported to have been seen headed towards an old house place nearby,back in the hills.
Most of the county police showed up at our house..and seemed to know that I knew those hills...(maby had something to do with poaching..?[}:)][;)])
Took me along with them up to the old house..had me drawing pictures in the dirt about approaches to it...Hard to believe,today..but those were different times,43 years ago.Found nobody..but I sure had a story to tell down at the school...
The next time didn't end so benignly.But the right people wound up hurt..so all's well that ends well...
