$7,500. I was helping my father-in-law who does diabetic research. He paid people $75/ea for them to test some new testing supplies and give feedback. It was for a report for Roesch(sp?) who produces testing supplies and meters. That was from Lafayette to Indianapolis. My wife and I were off and his company paid for us to come down and stay with him. Since we(wife and I) had our carry permits, we rode "shotgun" for 2 days back and forth from the hotel to the testing site->lunch->testing site->dinner->hotel->breakfast->....
Half of the lives they tell about me aren't true.

Bank in downtown chicago pissed me off so I took out $83,000.00 + change in cash and got into a cab and went home. Next day deposited it and had a crapload of paperwork to fill out.

Since I said it in the other topic about not carrying large amounts in cash...

$1000 was the max and that was after I sold two weapons at a show and one the way back home. But I did have a bill of sale showing the transaction.

When I travel for the military I use the lovely travel card they issue us.
Personal travels/vacations I use travelers checks for anything amount over $500 that I might need.

Did you notify the bank ahead of time of the cash withdrawal? I bought a home and was going to close, went by my bank and wanted a cashier's check for $65K. They were going to charge me for the check.... so I told them I would take the cash. The bank didn't have that much in the vault !!! They ended up giving me the cashier's check ..

I worked in the banking business as a branch manager for several years and the first of the month plenty of times I carried in excess of 200k from the main office to the branch. It usually amounted to two sacks full about 2 feet long double stacked. I am glad I don't do that anymore.

My own personal money, almost $75,000. Sold a house.

What I was personally responsible for, where I used to work, millions.
Literally multiple shopping carts full of cash, 40 lb. boxes full of Krugerrands, diamonds, gems of all kinds.
"Pay to the bearer" bonds, worth $1,000,000 each, a number of them at a time.
Counted close to $500,000,000 in value one night, had to go to lunch, quit counting.

I usually have a couple of grand in my pocket just in case I run across a good deal. Next time some old guy offers me three antique Colt's for a couple hundred each I will be ready.

As an aside...any of you who have had more than $1,500.00 in small denominations i.e. 10's, 20's,or 50's are guilty of possesion and transportation of illegal narcotics. Most of the cash in this country has gone through the hands of drug dealers and/or users and the material the cash is made of picks up traces of primarily cocaine. A study was done on this in Florida a few years back because so many people were getting their money taken because it alerted the drug dogs. Turns out that any random sampling of $1,500 in small bills has enough coke in it to be considered a felony posession. Only thing that has saved me is that my money reeks of Hoppes#9 and gun powder and it messes with the dogs sense of smell.

Yeah so instead of busting you for drug possession, they do a full body cavity search by Bertha the 400# medic when the dog tells them that you're running guns.

    Sounds like a great trade-off.

Nope, not enough cops ever on duty at one time to have a chance of that. Besides, guns are legal, coke isn't.

Depends on where you live. Take your car into D.C. and you're a lawbreaker.

Anyway, Big Bertha thinks you're hot. She'll use her feminine wiles on you.
