I am a computer geek and never change my own oil. There is a chevy dealership right infront of my office and that is where I take my Impala. They put Havoline 10W-30 in mine. I think.
If you will blame gun makers for every shooting then blame car maker for every car accident.
I asked the dealer when I bought the new suburban 10 months ago. I asked if Synthetic would void the wattanty, he told me NO, in fact Chevy recommends it. Just let the bearings seat over the first 5000 miles on regular petroleum oil, then switch to synthetic. I use Mobile 1 full synthetic with the mobil one filter (which by the way traps far smaller particles than lots of regular filters). One must wonder why the high performance cars of the world come with Synthetic oil from the factory. Open up the hood on a new Vette, and there is the mobile 1 sticker. By the way, with 11,000 miles on my engine in the suburban, it STILL carries 70lbs of oil pressure when hot on the highway and 60lbs at a hot idle, that's good oil.
i use John deere torque guard+50 15w40 in my diesel pickups and tractors ..John deere dealer hauls it to my place in bulk truck for 4.00 a gal other wise i use havoline 5-30 in the wife's car. imho do not use penzoil in anything not even a junk lawn mower engine ...
