In general, I'm a rifle man. Just starting to experiment with Short Barreled Scatterguns.Specifically, I have a facination with soviet rifles.

I'm a rifle guy. Never really been into the military-style rifles, but that's mainly due to my lack of knowledge. This board has certainly helped increase my knowledge and curiosity. I like bolt actions best, but like semi-autos, too. It's been said over and over, but it's definitely true..."too many guns, not enough money."

I'm the kind of person that likees the kind of gun that goes "bang" or "bang bang bang" or "bang bang bang bang bang bang....etc" when I pull the trigger and sends out a projectile really fast everytime it goes "bang". Is that specific enough? Is this a round-about way of asking that "if you had to choose just one" question again?

Handguns first, but I like my shotguns too! I've been poking my nose into the rifle arena lately.

By and large, if it has a trigger and shoots something, I like it (yes, crossbows included, tho I don't have one -- yet). Tend to favor manual operation over automatic (save for full-auto) because I still don't trust them new-fangled gizmos. I want the weapon to operate because of the action of my trigger finger and arms, not from the gas or recoil. Consequently, I bought 6 or 7 revolvers before I bought my first autoloader. Bolt rifles, pump shotguns were my calling, but a suh-weet! Belgian-made Browning Auto-5 in 20 guage cause the scales to fall from my eyes, and I have since bought a Springfield M1A, Garand (CMP), 1911A1 (natch), Browning Half- er, that is, I mean, Hi-Power (with holster/shoulder stock!), Beretta 92FS, Browning take-down .22 auto loader -- well, you get the idea. Too, today at the Xroads of the West gunshow in Del Mar, I bought my first SXS, a Birmingham 12 ga. Did I mention I like anything with a trigger that shoots a projectile?
I may disagree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.--Voltare

I am an all-around gun person I guess. I own and shoot all kinds of guns. When it comes to handguns I have used about everything with my favorites being 1911 type 45s, Smith and Wesson double action revolvers, Colt and Ruger singleactions. Shotguns my favorites are Fine Double barrel sideXsides. Rifles, I like all kinds with Boltactions and leveractions being my favorites.

I'm nuts about all of them. I hope that someday at the great gun range in the sky, I'll get to shake the hand of John Browning. Maybe sit and chew the fat about guns for a while.

I like em' all, but have started to become interested in the artistic aspect over the utilitarian function. I'm starting to purchase firearms much like aquiring prints, keeping in mind investment values for the long term. I don't buy as many now, have all the hunting, target shooting, personal protection guns I need.....the ones I get now are high end collectible pieces.LeeBlackman, saw your question on the .410 slug, but the thread was locked out....Iowa does not allow these for deer....had some people tell me there were other midwest shotgun states, but can't confirm. rifles, the kind that shoots a lot of rounds in a short amount of time. A shotgun is a shotgun to me, but I probably need to get more interested in the pistol area. I love those guns with the big mags. and mean looking.

I'm more of a rifle guy actually, even though I have nearly as many pistols as rifles ... pistols I just like to have and shoot occasionally and most still NIB or only shot one mag. The exception would be my Kimber Stainless Custom and Ruger Stainless Mk II Bull ... Both of those get shot fairly regularly.I use the same target reguardless of distance. Just something about punching holes in a 3/4" X Ring (dot actually) at 100-500 yards that gets my leg twichin'!But what I love the most is when some "Nose in the air, better than thou" idiot comes out with a Remington PSS with expensive glass and I out shoot him with my sleeper AR-15 and BSA scope. When he starts boasting (or complaining) he spent $900+ on his PSS and $600+ on his glass I say something to the effect "Huh, I gave a guy $400 for my gun and $69 on sale for the scope" ... then try to keep a straight face ... ... Does that make me a bad person?

In the daylight all guns are beautiful.Even Webley Scott revolvers have a certain beauty in their ugliness. Lately, Ive begun to favor pump guns over lever guns because of smoother, quicker follow up shots.

Anything I can put holes in the X ring with.I've loved the Garand ever since the early '50's when I was able to shoot 188 out of 200the first time I fired one. I'm also enamored of the 1st gen. Colt SAA's. I got a lot of different stuff and try to appreciate them for doing what they were specifically designed to do. From snubbies to that Remington 700 and everything in between.Mudge

Well, w/ a username like mine, you gotta figure I'm going to rock the boat [grin]. I'm more an ammo guy . . . been collecting for 30+ years. Always willing to give a new home to some of that old stuff . . . especially US military. I keep an eclectic mix of most types which allow me to do all the shooting / hunting / carrying I want.

All of the above. Though admittedly I prefer older military rifles except the new AK is nice and then there is those .22lr rifles, but then....Okay back to all of the above.

Like shooting anything that goes "BANG". Used to be able to do alot of hunting and competitive shooting with rifle and shotgun but due to injuries from auto accident have been shooting mostly handguns (Rugers) and some rifle from the bench. Back in the 70's did a lot of black powder shooting of flintlocks and Civil War era guns. Big game guns: 760 Rem. Gamemaster .270, Win. 54 .30-06, & Win. 94 .30-30; small game etc: Rem. 870 12ga.,Stevens 311 sxs 12ga., Win. 131 .22lr; Ruger handguns sa, da, s-auto for hunting, target, carry, etc. - these are my favorites.

My favorite type of firearms are military arms, especially old ones. After that comes accurate rifles (bolt action centerfire, semi-auto rimfire, I don't really care, just so long as it is accurate). Then comes the defensive arms: semi-auto pistol (which is also used for competition), pump shotgun. Never really did get into hunting or hunting rifles.

I never met a gun I didn't like. Given an infinite selection, I'd always go for something antique, usually a military rifle.

All of the above, but I have developed a real interest in military arms. I have had an AR-15 or two for thirteen years, but recently got my first Garand. Of course every Fall my trusty Browning A-Bolt in .270 Winchester is always nearby.
