    allendan:And my experience has been just the opposite.TFE in the lubricants seems to have extended the life of several engines for me.I said seem to, it's hard to prove.Clouder..

    Alledan....So THAT'S what happened to the engine in my '88 T-Bird. I used that stuff.Didn't associate the leaking seals with the Slick50.Mudge the enlightened
    I can't come to work today. The voices said, STAY HOME AND CLEAN THE GUNS!

    I use synthetic lubricants in all my vehicles and have been doing so since I bought my '89 Chevy S-10 new. I now have 120,000 miles on the original engine (although I did have to replace the water pump at 77,000 miles), and it still runs smoothly and doesn't burn a drop of oil. My '95 Dodge Intrepid and '01 Olds Intrigue have also been completely (engine {Amsoil}, transmission, differential and power steering {Red Line Oil}) switched over to synthetic oil.Tip: If you're going to use synthetic trans fluid in your Mopar, use 7176 equivalent fluid ONLY (Red Line Oil C+). Using "universal" ATF is asking for trouble.
