Ok...let me see if I am understanding this....if he had PRE BAN 30 round mags in his car, no problem, but because he had the far deadlier POST BAN mags, he is going to jail???? Pre ban and post ban both hold 30 rounds....but one is good and one is evil???? What a bunch of friggin idiots running that state.[:(!][xx(]
You got it. NY laws make as much sense as closed captions in a porn flick. [:(!]
I never DID understand that ideology... You either KNOW what's goin' on or you don't... [:0]

NYS needs to have an uprising and blatantly walk openly with ARs with 30 rounders in them (bolts locked back and safed).
Lets see the cops put 10-15k people in jail
I would love to see that.[:D]
It would take at least that number to push back the NY gestapo ...
Any less and they would certainly try.
And if those marching were loaded... There would most likely be bloodshed.
I'd really hate to see that... But it's gonna eventually happen.

I am not sure what's going on with this. Are you saying he had pre ban mags over ten rounds that he should have disposed of long ago?
Or are they his Military issue mags? Should they be exempt?
He is no longer in the Army.
The mags are post 1994 ban and illegal by NY law. This has nothing to do with the current BS that is going on in this state.
right and thats what a lot people are missing. The mags were post ban and he had a private weapons. No way to tell between military or non military mags. He was using his military mags in his private weapons I guarentee it. Which military or non military mags combine it with the weapon he was wrong, as BS as the laws are and whats going on now. I have been pulled over by police around Fort Drum and they have seen my mags and said nothing. So Im sure between having the weapon being on him and no longer being in the Army was his demise.

Then there is the little matter of his DUI (what he was pulled over for), the subsequent chase and alleged resisting and the fact that the mags were in plain sight in the back seat.
The bottom line is, despite it being a BS law....it IS the law...and he had been here more than enough time to know it.
PS: He did not have the AR with him at the time of his arrest.
I just left an voice mail message for the Sheriff of Jefferson County NY, John P. Burns, about this and ask him to call me to discusses this.
The phone number there is 315-786-2700 (1) then (6) for the administration office .
This is for any other Leo's who would like to discusses this violation of civil right with the sheriff![;)]

You really want to get upset just do a Google check on this Sheriffs Department (Jefferson County NY).
It isn't what I call a top notch LEO organization.
Just in the past several months or year the following has occurred:
The Sheriff's wife was arrested for Hit & Run DWI. The department was sued for Five Million $$ by a Deputy because a Detective took provocative pictures of her. The under Sheriff was suspended when it was discovered that he was having an affair with a subject under criminal investigation. A Deputy was found passed out in his patrol vehicle from the effects of alcohol, and the fellow Deputy who discovered him deposed of the evidence. Just this week the County Board of Supervisors has asked the State Attorney Generals officer to open an investigation into the Sheriff's Department.
