I agree with almost all the P's above.Along with liars are the thieves. One of mine is also the person that borrows something and (forgets?) to bring it back, or brings it back broken, with no offer to replace or fix it. Or the person that you have done 100's of favors for and when you finally need to ask for one, he/she does not have the time or whatever other excuse.
OK..I've already given one, but there is something that has always bugged me. TV commercials that depict the husband, father, boyfriend, man as an idiot that can't do anything right and is as dumb as a post. Whereas the wife, mother, girlfriend, woman is the all knowning person that saves the day while the kids stand by shaking their heads.
Almost all of the above are irritants but fail to achieve the status of 'PET PEEVE' (OK, cell phones reach that level -esp. cell phones where there ought not be any phones. Fortunately, there aren't any cells where I hunt so the few idiots I've seen are just carrying extra plastic around) In the context of this board, my 'pet peeve' is the miss-use of common words:
Some of the more common errors seen on GB involve these words (just to list a few)
There - a location as in `it is over there
Their - possessive form of they as in `it is their problem
They're - contraction of they are as in they're going to have a problem
Site - a location considered from the standpoint of its use for a specific purpose, as in `that is a radar site'
Sight - Vision, an aiming device as in `the Aimpoint is an optical sight'
Your - Possessive as in `that is your problem'
You're - contraction of "you are" as in `Keep it up and you're going to have a problem'

People telling me how I should think. I am not bashful about asking for advice when I want or need it. Don't tell me what religion is best for me, what politician is best for me, or how I should look, or dress. I am a big boy, and am capable of making educated decisions for myself. So, stop calling me, stop ringing my doorbell, and stop sending me crap I didn't ask for.

1. People that just moved here and all they want to talk about is how things were better where they just came from. MOVE BACK!!!! Those of us who like it here could use the room.
I really dislike able-bodied people who park brand new cars in handicapped spots, buy the most expensive cuts of meat, the most expensive wines, then stand in front of me in the 12 items or less line with 25 items in their cart, and then pay for all of it with food stamps!
Only the strong survive...well maybe also some weak ones with lots of ammo!
People with Johnson County plates and Colorado plates that tailgate 6 inches behind by rear bumper when I'm already driving 5 mph over the speed limit in single lane construction zones. That aint going to make me speed up,,it makes me sssllooooowwwwwwwwww down!!!

I still have the 1966 Indiana driving manual that I learned on, and things I learned about driving in order to pass those tests every few years are things that are now second nature.
Among them -- the left lane is the passing lane, for passing a specific vehicle, after which one returns to the right lane -- the right lane is where trucks & vans belong except when passing -- if someone is cruising in the passing lane and refuses to move over once you have a) blinked your lights and/or b) sounded your horn, then you may pass them on the right with caution, because, and I quote, "you are dealing with a poor driver."
Also the manual says speeding up when someone tries to pass you, even inadvertently, is illegal. I.e., a person who has begun to pass you is entitled to complete the maneuver around you, and your speeding up to close the gap between you and the guy ahead of you is illegal.
And the driver ON the road ALWAYS has the right of way over anyone desiring to enter his roadway from an on-ramp or other roadway, except where a Merge sign is posted. If no merging traffic sign is posted, it is a Yield situation.
Also, a driver on the highway moving into the deceleration lane to exit a highway ALWAYS has the right of way over someone looking for a safe opportunity to enter the roadway from an on-ramp. The driver must Yield to the decelerating driver using the deceleration lane before he may use it to accelerate onto the roadway.
I don't have road rage, I just have frequent disappointment in the driving habits of others based on my knowledge of Indiana's rules of the road... Guess what? These rules have NEVER been changed.
