we have had fedx leave a gun at the house next door because he got to our place really late (after hours) the ups driver left stuff hanging in a plastic bag on the fence out by the road and twice this winter the mail carrier took out our mail box at home with no note or any acknowledgment at all. I had to catch up with him and ask what happened and fix it both times at my expense! so take your pick, they all have someone working for them that just dosent give a darn. if only everyone would just treat people the way we want to be treated it would be a different world!!!!

I ship all over the world and don't have a problem. Anything heavy goes in a PRIORITY flat rate box. Cheaper and faster than anything else, plus, they provide the boxes and the tape.
Bought an item from ebay and asked the seller about delivery. Wanted the item sent USPS Priority, Insured, signature required. Why because OTHER folks left it at the door and didn't even ring door bell and it was tooo much money to lose and I did NOT mind going to the post office if I missed the postman.
Surprise, email in less than a hour and informed OK,, he'd include those items in price quoted on ebay at no additional charge. That was nice and said "Good Luck in International Shipping"..
Surprise !!! He returned the email and he said ebay was setup with a firm that specializes in International shipping so it was not a problem. Correspondence was via: ebay. So didn't ask more.
Question,, kind of related to this thread,, anyone use this service?
BTW: My address is the postmans "LAST STOP" and that is between 5:45 and 6:15, I'd say he works pretty hard.
That is their Global Shipping Program. You can sign up for it or not.
You end up shipping the item to a US address. When it arrives there they take care of it from there and they do the rest.
The one problem I have with this is you never know how much they charged the buyer for shipping.
I sold a diecast car last week to a guy in Canada and he asked me not to use the service. We some how managed to by pass the system and I sent it directly to him through the post office. I did how ever fill out the customs forms on my own.
According to the buyer it is cheaper for the buyer to do it this way.
I have no clue as to what the Global Shipping Program charges the buyer for shipping. I also shipped something awhile back and it went to a New Jersey address. I received the original amount for shipping to the New Jersey address. What they charged him after that is unknown.
