LTS, I'm glad you have beem so successful in your hunts. I can think of many times where odor has worked for and against me. I take it you have never been winded, I have quite a few times. I have set up in a spot that I knew the deer used on a regular basis just to see them move off trail when I am sitting up in the tree.

I will admit that the camo is more of a hype, it sells for our eyes. Look at Dan Fitzgerald and what he wears while bow hunting. But Dan will also tell you one of the biggest reasons he is so successful is cover and attractive scents. Some odors just do not belong in the woods, I spend 99% of my time on farms around cows, now if what you are saying is correct I can walk thru the parlor before I head up and the deer will not notice the cow flop on my boots. How that is so wrong, the deer know that the cows are not up that high and smelling cow dung up there is not right. I have used Red Fox Pee for a cover scent only to find that it only works in certain areas, sometimes it will * all the deer within a mile of my stand. Go out well before the prerut and place some estrus out and see if the bucks come to it, place it out during the rut and the results are great. When it comes to urine, place dominant buck lure in an area where you know of some smaller bucks and see if they come to investigate. You said about placing scent in an active scrape only to have the buck come along and pee in it again, that is good, You have his attention. I'm not going to sit here and bore you with hunting stories but I have learned alot thru trial and error, while I will hunt with guns frequently I prefer bow hunting. It is a challenge and alot of fun. I also pride myself in being able to get deer so cloe I can smell THEM, not the other way around. Most of the deer I have shot with the bow I could have dropped a brick on their head and knocked them out. I sure as hell cant get a mature buck UNDER my stand smelling like a litter box! And as far as taking care with my clothes, you would laugh at me if I told you how picky I am geting from the house to the woods, my clothes live in a big plastic tub and are washed once a year, when field dressing deer, I take the outer layers off so as not to get any blood on them. I am that picky. If you think I'm coo coo for doing that, fine, go ahead you are entitled to yuor opinion. I only do what I know works for me.

Thanks guy for the tips, I had the wifey get me a bottle of generic you know what wash and let my releases soak in them over night and so far I cannot smell any pee pee on them. I think I will dilute a couple bottles of that and soak all the clothes in the same tub I store them in and then wash with the sport wash. Thanks again fellas, ohh and thanks to the lady who brought up the whole idea of using "kitty" wash!

There is no need to dilute the "wash".. *LOL for lack of a better term... use it full strength... in all honesty if it gets rid of skunk... and PLEASE DON'T EXPAND ON THAT..*LOL it will get rid of cat urine... Good luck...
By the way.. it wont stain the clothes..

I admit there is alot more to bow hunting than just scenting up, but no matter how well you do at the necassary skills, it can all be ruined because of one little thing, I take no chances. As far as gun hunting goes, I'm still picky but not near as much, I will make myself look like a snob on this one. Rifle hunting is easy, if you know how to shoot a rifle, you can get a deer. Walk around the woods long enough and you will have meat in the freezer. I can show you how easy it is for someone to pop a deer with a rifle, if you want to see it I can post the newspaper story on it and the picture of the deer. About 5 miles from me a farmer who does not hunt on a regualr basis shot a record buck, 32 points. He shot this 2 years ago. He is not a skilled hunter but is decent with a rifle, he stumbled up this deer while taking manure out to dump, pulled up and shot it. Now, being that he is not a hunter, what are his chances of getting that old of a deer in bow range? The deer was aged at 7 years old and he didnt live that long by being stupid, and if you saw how hard this is hunted here you would know why that buck was luck. BTW, yes I'm jealous of that deer! I can't help it! Lucky SOB! I bust my hump all year and the biggest I have shot with a bow is a 18" 9 point, he goes for a ride on the Farmall and gets a trophy record buck, phooey.
