    Ignorance is bliss, so they say. Knowledge is power. Some have it, some don't and some refuse facts at every turn if it supports their beliefs and ideals, even when they can see it is crap.

    Yeah, Elmo, it is old news. I learned about it in a magazine article 20 years ago. You compare it to the Vincennes blowing an Iranian airbus out of the sky. That accident was based on radar sightings only. There was no visual confirmation. The American sailors believed, due to a mistake with the radar, that an enemy jet attack was under way. They believed they had seconds to react, or a missile would destroy their ship. The Liberty was 13 miles out to sea, and the nearest smoke of combat was on the shore. The Israelis made 12 fly bys over the span of hours in the morning, then made the attack in the afternoon. The best intelligence service in the world had 5 or 6 hours to assess the id and the mission of the Liberty, on a bright sunny day. You sound as if you have not even bothered to look at the web site put up by the survivors.
