What's your profession?

I have read posts, and they will say "Ask *****" about it, he knows. I am new here, a couple of months. I have no idea who does what, or keep track of it. I think it would be a good idea to reply as to what you do for a living, so people could post, or email you directly if you want too. I will start, and I am a auto mechanic. I have been one since 1983. I feel very qualified in my profession. Drivability, or tune up problems, computer, abs, ect, I don't do. Any other questions, I would be happy to help with. Anything to do with guns is my hobby. I was into radio controlled aircraft for along time. That's about it. If you read this post, and don't reply, you will be put on a list. The list will be of "non posters". A can of whoop as* will be sent to you.

Am self employed and a mechanical engineer/metallurgist by education. Have an oilfield production equipment fabrication firm that exports to overseas oil production companies, a specialty hardwood distribution business and of course Blue Wonder gun care products. Can help with things regarding exporting and foreign travel, reciprocating pumps and engines, wood, metallurgy, gun cleaning and bluing. Fun stuff - flying and anything at all related to airplanes. Been flying for 23 years. Do lots of hunting/fishing/guns but I'm a novice not an expert.

About the only time I can remember not having a good time restoring a classic was a 1963 Chevy Impala I did around a year ago and it wasnt that I didnt enjoy the work on the car it was the owner was such a jerk.He would stop by the shop every day to check on his car and drag me off work I am in the middle of to tell me what I am doing wrong and he doesnt know jack about what he is talking about. The total restoration was costing him $16,000.00 though thats why my boss put up with him.I just didnt care for him acting like I was gonna hurt his "baby" when Im the one making her beautiful again.

When I was younger I worked many different jobs. I've worked as a cook for my parents, installed swimming pools and spas, drywalled, painting and wallpaper, and also some light construction. The job I have presently is the one I've been at the longest and coincidentally the most fun. I'm an injection molding technician for a company that specializes in outdoor products.

I'm a technical writer, formerly worked for 20 years in Hollywood with screenwriters and as a script analyst. I have used Macs and PCs for an equal number of years, and worked as a writer on Dept. of Defense software, driver licensing, security card and smart card software and hardware systems, and more recently I have branched into marketing writing, PR, and advertising -- mostly for industrial accounts. I have built web sites, and I have been doing collector auctions on eBay since 1999. I worked for a while with an appraiser of fine antiques, selling items such as fine silverwork and religious relics on the internet. I'm also an accomplished keyboardist and have been playing music nights and weekends much of the time since the late 60s.

Keywords: Writer, artist, musician, creative, computers, internet, technical manual writer, business proposal manager. Very mature, smarter than some of my past bosses.

Jack of all trades. Currently working as a quality inspector in a screw machine shop, that caters to the automotive and defense industries. I also recently restored a 1915 vintage singer industrial sewing machine. I am slowly teaching myself the skills of upholstery, tailoring and holster making. Someday I hope to make a portion of my income making clothing and leather goods for the reinacting and cowboy action crowds.

Rosie, that did make me laugh. The company I work for doesn't have the required equiptment to repair every car. Thats why the dealerships can charge so much. They only work on one brand of car. It's not cost effective to have a 30k machine you only use a few times a year.
