Plenty of people have taken on these topics before. Trump is not the first nor will be be the last to do so. What he manages to do is to make a big noise. That big noise does stir up a base. Of course this base was already decided on the issues anyway.
Problem is Trump manages all this while offending undecided or non-aligned voters. Who are exactly the voters any candidate needs to win the general election.

This favors Hillary.
But don't for a minute think that McCain isn't a Hero.
You do 5+ years as a POW, let alone the HH, and the fact that you come out at all makes you a Hero. He gave a hell of a lot to this Country.
Being a POW doesn't make you qualified for office.
But being in congress for as long has he has, at this point, qualifies McCain as much as anyone else.
So, can we be done with Trump now?
