Add Monte Walsh with Jack Palance and Lee Marvin to the list.
U ever seen the 2003 version,w/Tom Selick? Any good?
fishkiller41....yes, the Tom Selick version is good also...but I liked the original better. Having said that, anything Tom Selik is in (perhaps except the police thing running on TV now) is super IMHO. He does westerns right and is careful to make sure that he uses stuff just like the originals.
I never saw the Selick version, but I agree Tom Selick does great westerns

"Extreme prejudice" a modern type western a texas ranger whos childhood friend turns drug dealer who finally shoot it out.
lots of shooting, blowing things up and ect
Nick Nolte
Powers Booth
Rip Torn
Michael Ironside
Maria Conchita Alonso
I have that'n already on my HDD.It's pretty good. I like the end, where he goes to Mex. and confronts Powers Booth,on his own turf!!
The homes Nolte and his friends live in are REAL OL'SCHOOL Tx. 'steads".
Cool flick.
The BAR SCENE is good too!
Usless factoid: Nick Nolte was schooled on how to act like a Ranger by Joaquin Jackson.
Mentioned this on another thread last nite. But a real fun western and one of my favorites: Waterhole No. 3. You'll thank me if you haven't seen this one before.

You're gonna love it.
Some great actors, singing the story is Roger Miller. And one of my favorite charactor actors, Timothy Carey. He's the big guy that hums a lot. You have to watch it several times to get all the little bits you'll miss while you're laughing.
Paint your Wagon. Has both Clintwood and Marvin in it.
Not movies but several TV Western series are available; Have Gun Will Travel, Wagon Train, Rawhide, Gunsmoke, Wanted Dead or Alive and others. Didn't know Gene Roddenberry did Have Gun Will travel until I bought the first season. If I remember correctly both Spock and McCoy (don't remember their real names) from Star Trek did roles in the Have Gun Will Travel series first.
