DON'T GIVE UP YET, I HADA PACKAGE TAKE 21 DAYS, SHIPPED USPS PRIORITY/INS/DELIV. CONF. SENT ALL THE INFO TO THE BUYER AND GUESS WHAT?, THE GUN SHOWED UP AT THE DEALERS THE NEXT DAY.

Ditto. I mailed a gun Priority Mail and it took nearly 2 weeks. About the time I had the USPS start tracing it the thing showed up at the buyer's FFL. Whew !!! This is with signature confirmation which works the same as any other USPS tracking [ i.e., not very good ].

And you buy USPS minimum insurance for 99 dollars for $1.10 and you get a signature. You have no clue how it works so don't bother me.

Amount of Insurance and Fees Amount of insurance desired
    Fee in addition to postage

    $0.01 to $50.00
    $1.35

    50.01 to 100.00
    2.30

    100.01 to 200.00
    3.35

    200.01 to 300.00
    4.40

    300.01 to 400.00
    5.45

    400.01 to 500.00
    6.50

    Mag,
I thought it might have gone up a little. I seldom have just one package and I just pay the postage bill at the end. It's just a cost of doing business and a write off anyway. What's a extra buck for peace of mind worth?

and did you sir know if an ffl-ffl transfer was required before you outwardly insulted the mans intelligence????

Bobski- Now what would your plan of action had been if the gun never showed up? Just curious. A full refund for the guy or something else?

I think the FFL that shipped that gun owes you something better than to have shipped it that way after holding onto it by accident for that long....they should have shipped it out "next day"...even if they used USPS they could have gotten it there faster. I don't think they felt bad about misplacing your gun in the first place in the way they settled this.....just my thoughts....I wouldn't be running back to have this kind of thing done by them any time soon....unless you get an explination as to why they didn't feel like they owed this transaction better attention AFTER the mix-up.

I would think that the shipping ffl owes you an explanation or a gun to ship in place of the uninsured one he sent or sold or who knows what.I had a gun come into an ffl with my name on it and one of the employees sold the thing before I could pick it up. Things happen.

Almost had that happen to me when I ordered my Sar-1 some * put it up for sale luckily I came in the day after that happend, and picked it up. Because its about the cleanest looking Sar-1 I have ever seen.

USPS registered is insured and dosn't have to have insurance included. Although USPS registered is expensive is is by far the most secure way to send mail. Each USPS employee handling the registered letter/package must sign for it and is responsible for it until the next USPS employee, during transit, signs for it. One downside is that it takes longer on average for registered mail to reach it's destination.
