salzo: you are correct. I did misspell the word.but I can aceept my wrong doings

I know I was correct-and I sure dont need you to confirm that my spell check was accurate.
If you are looking for a place to have a good time, you found it. But it gets rather borish when members go about correcting other members grammar. Everybody screws up around here when it comes to type os, grammar, etc. But it gets slow real fast when some members take it upon themselves to be spellcheckers(is that one word or to(or is it two)(or is it too)).
Those who feel the need to feel superior by checking everyones grammar, indicates that the person does not have all that much to say-so they must read a post with a red pen.
Put the pen away-you aint no ones teacher around here.
And your rather abrupt assault on the Supermonkey leads me to believe that you have been here before-very recently. I think you are a regular around here-trying to find an alias-I know who you are.

allen, yeah there are a lot of big hawaiian thugs running around. The guy I encountered was a teenage punk roughin up new Privates on base who didn't know anyone. I remember first getting to Hawaii I was a little intimidated by the whole Real Army philosophy. Right out of Basic you don't know how to act, and I can see where this other guy could get scared by this thug. Most hawaiians aren't jerks, but there are those that have no education that are intimidated by the military, so they lash out at us and when your 6 foot 300 pounds you can definitely do damage. I wouldn't screw with a guy like that(usually not Hawaiian but Samoan or Tongan) Those guys could be mean!!!! I was lucky though I was friends with two guys who were native, and I had a blast. Got to see a lot of Hawaii that others don't get to see.

michelle -- the word is "too" ready, not "to" ready. Just being helpful. And I mean it takes time to convince yourself of that much BS. Think back. You probably have run into this sort of problem before, and used that excuse before, and wherever you go, you take you with you. You can have a good time around here if you're willing to jump in and talk, but we're not here to correct each other's grammar, for pete's sake; if you can't figure out what someone means by a post, ASK. Otherwise, go find the Grammar board. E-mail and internet posts are quick and dirty, and informal, and it is insulting to start questioning people's level of education when all they're trying to do is join in. You might as well start off on the right foot, because there's a "poofer" around here that makes posts go "poof" quite regularly when they are offensive enough. This isn't one of those boards where people spend time taking sides and cutting others down. Those posts go away quick. Read the archives and you'll find a dearth of such threads -- there's a reason for that.

We were all taught grammer in public school as well as the correct spelling of words.
The forum is a place to voice opinions, ask questions, play a few practical jokes, have a laugh or two or even shed a tear; it is not a place to publically ridicule a person..
Criticism, whether constructive or otherwise, should have been down privately.
We all screw up once in a while... our fingers are sometimes faster than our brains and vice versa.... our eyes will also pass over the "errors in grammer" to read what is posted about the movie...educated eyes do not have to have a sentence correct in grammer and spelling in order to understand what was said.
We all have our "own ways" of expressing ourselves, but for all intent and purposes, we do get our point across...

BlackRoses: "...educated eyes do not have to have a sentence correct in grammer and spelling in order to understand what was said." You said it better than I did. Exactly the point.

Weird movies? Crimes of Passion, Lost Highway, Firewalk with Me, Crash, Eraserhead, much of Ken Russell's work, much of Fellini's work, and a lot of student films. THX1138 was a student film by George Lucas before he made it a feature, for example. The black & white Western sounds like a student film too, by the way, probably a Sundance Institute film. I hate to say the filmmaker was that predictable, but even supposedly counterculture student films can be conformist in their "rebellious" style.

Salzo, you are right. This is deja vu. Michelle has been "seen before". Kirkland, I remember my buddy said these guys were Samoans. That word "moka" is their own word for "Samoan". So a bunch of Samoans are immigrating to Hawaii? My buddy was a hellion no doubt going to the bad parts of town in search of women, illegal smoke etc. etc. Really he was looking for trouble but he found more than he wanted.

There really isn't such a thing as Hawaiian as a race anymore(was there ever?) If there are any Hawaiians on this site I am going to get railroaded. It's like being a Texan or Nevadan anymore. They are kind of like us I'm Scottish, Swedish, and a little Texan. So the closest thing to hawaiian would be Polynesian. They are all a mix now. That said they are all trying to get a souveirn nation so anyone with Hawaiian blood(I think 1/16th) gets free land and a bunch of other crap. In my opinion we should leave Hawaii to themselves just like they want, and see what country makes them slaves first!! If you don't want to be a part of America SCREW YOU!

Disclaimer: The above is a statement from an uneducated Nevadan. Those opinions expressed are solely his and would change real quick if a "Hawaiian" were to confront him

I've never heard of a "Hawaiian" but I've met Polynesians. Is that area of South Pacific islands still referred to as Polynesia? I forget what nickname the Hawaiian Polynesians use for themselves, but it sounds something like Howlie, I think. In any case, I've also had an acquaintance from the little island of Tonga, and I can tell you he could have been Hawaiian, if you didn't know the difference. I'm sure that there is no such thing as a Hawaiian race, though. (Does someone hear "Bali Hai" in the distance?)

Howlie is slang for not an islander. Usually derogatory toward white people.

gretings again, i agree with offer'r and blk roses on the grammar thing, that coming from probably the worst speller in the resent memory. that and these damn key boards (curses to the chinesse), but in defense of michel'e (she?) isn't the only one to be quick to correct, (in an epistle of paul's it states that if your not corrected you are considered common)my paraphase. to al'en grig's, have been to the islands three times 30 years ago ahd as i remember the fastest way to get in a fight with the locals was to call one a fishhead or kunaccy. and brother they was tuff , one was my first experience with ishon ru. imagine standing a captains mast with both eyes swelled shut and a couple cracked ribbs. to mk'rkla'd , it is probably true that the original hawaians are deluded away, but i still respect their "nationalism" just as i favor pourto rician independance, if they so choose. states rights to the end. respt submitted dads-freehold

"A Clock Work Orange" is a Cult Classic. You would have to have seen it in the early Seventies to appreciate it.

    offeror,
The "black & white Western" that WY Swede mentioned is Dead Man. It was directed by Jim Jaramush (He did Stranger than Paradise, Down By Law, etc.) Definetly not a student film. It is quite good, actually.

    michelle -- welcome!

pickenup -- Good one; ya got me there.

See; I wouldn't make a good bigot. I didn't even know what a howlie was. I guess if they called me one it wouldn't make much diff, then, would it?

I got a kick out of Lord of the Rings, but I'm into special effects very big. I was surprised to find I enjoyed Moulin Rouge, as I'm not big on movies with mob scenes like a circus, nor on musicals. But I liked Moulin Rouge. The score was modern, the story meant something, the lovers had real chemistry, Nicole looked great, etc. I also liked Natural Born Killers, though, so my taste is all over the map. Don't ask me why I like the crazy girls, but I like Juliette Lewis and I like Angelina Jolie, and I used to like Sean Young. Probably has something to do with my addictive personality. No doubt they would all cut my heart out and show it to me. I know you don't care; I think I'm talking to myself......

WyomingSwede, speaking of that "black and white western made by a college kid", this just about wraps it up for you: Jim Jarmusch remakes Apocalypse Now in the Old West -- http://us.imdb.com/CommentsShow?112817

Down By Law is very good, too, perhaps even better (one of Ellen Barkin's first roles, I believe).
