quote:citizens do not have the right to shoot animals for crop damage on private property....

OHH CRAP AM I EVER IN TROUBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Man I used to get paid to do that, farmers can kill for crop damage and so can employees, the animal may not leave the property after being killed. There are no permits involved, no nothing. Just shoot em and dispose of them properly. I'm not sure about elk, may ber a different story but deer are killed like rats around here for crop damage, and legally.

Politicians are like diapers, every so often you need to change them, for obvious reasons.

I'm from pennsylvania, stationed in californistan. the game commission says its illegal to kill elk that destroy crops.

I've dropped many a whitetail with a .22 mag on my grandfathers farm.

They are trying to 'protect' the elk while they try to introduce it to Pennsyvlania, a place it shouldn't be.

I have a big problem with crop damage from the deer on my farm. The local Game Warden informed me that if I listed my property for public hunting I was allowed to harvest one deer for crop damage for my own comsumption or harvest any number providing I dress them out and arrange with the Game Warden to pick up the dressed carcus without public hunting. He said that the Game Commission no longer issues farm tags without the requirement to open your land for public hunting. He gave a real sales pitch for the farm to be listed for public hunting................is this the back door approach to removing the sovereignty of private property in PA?

My neighbor's solution to the new policy is to have a lot of farm machinery encounters with the deer.

The PGC is mostly about raising money for the state (fines & fees). Give and old man a break that can still defend his property with ot-6.
Beachmaster 73 makes about as much sense as a real blond beach girl!

Which is exactly why the PA Game Commission is trying to get Elk in PA....more revenue.

It's bad enough with all the Coyote's they let loose.

If no one else raises cane with the media, Governor Rendell, and the Game Commission this 80 year old man is going to end up in the slammer.
