I am a life member, 1 I dont have to worry about renewing, as a disabled vet....

I did not read beyond that point.

Just wondered if you knew that the NRA supported H.R. 2640 McCarthy/Leahy Gun Control Bill?

A bill which could prohibit military veterans from ever owning firearms in their lifetime?

yes I did, and I called the NRA to let them know what I thought about it. I do object to any one telling a vet they cant own a gun.

this is the area that concerns you, I do have one concern with anyone that is a threat being a mental health patient is not enough, if someone has made the statement that they do intend to do harm, in fla we have the baker act, my daughter has been there twice. Making comments that she was going to cut herself.

these are from the H.R. 2640
Prevents use of federal "adjudications" that consist only of medical diagnoses without findings that the people involved are dangerous or mentally incompetent. This would ensure that purely medical records are never used in NICS. Gun ownership rights would only be lost as a result of a finding that the person is a danger to themselves or others, or lacks the capacity to manage his own affairs.

Improves the accuracy and completeness of NICS by requiring federal agencies and participating states to provide relevant records to the FBI. For instance, it would give states an incentive to report those who were adjudicated by a court to be "mentally defective," a danger to themselves, a danger to others or suicidal

that pertains to any and all mentally unbalanced

Post the entire sentence rather than pulling words out, Then and only then can one take it in the context it was meant.. I think most in here would agree it is better to actually do something than sit back an whine, no matter how small the effort. Merely telling people the evils of something doesnt change a thing.Actions always speak louder than words..[:(]

And As I have stated before, The NRA politics suck big time, but in many instances they are a necessary evil just like FFL dealers suck, but they are also a necessary evil at times.[:0]

Do you have some special powers that allow you to know what people who post here do, outside of what they post?

Does critical and consistent critique of the NRA predict the sum total of a persons other actions and/or activities in life, to you?

That sets aside, of course, those who talk up certain things that they do.

Do you ever read what you type, before you hit the 'post new reply' tab........Nah, course not.

I was ask and I said some of what I do, Now Again what do you do?

Until one tells of his exploits or shows some sort of actions that are productive, one must assume they do nothing.[:0]

That is all I could get from your buddy HIGHBALL, " I tell people" BFD.

As a side note, Today, I will be going to the Silver Dollar trap and skeet club, to work with a NRA, YES ,NRA youth promotion shooting program. And on the 19th I will be attending an NRA, YES, NRA sponsored youth State Tournement. What will you be doing LT496?

In between these activities, I have about 5 Firearms Safety classes, that I give for FREE. Only class I charge for is the CCW class..What will you be doing LT496??

Oh yea ! I forgot I also have a class scheduled at another range for shotgun reloading. What do you do LT496?

I am a Life Member, My grandfather bought a Life membership for me in the NRA and Ducks unlimited when I was a kid. They were Birthday Presents for my 10th and 12th birthday.

I am glad i am a member of both but as far as the NRA goes they don't represent me and i don't send them money. I am getting more and more disgusted with DU also.

I to am very disappointed with the NRA, but in some areas of the shooting arena they are necessary. I have hoped they would get out of the political arena and go back to what they were designed for, but that will never happen..I just wish more people would take an active roll even at their local level to try, and Yes! It does help as laws are being repealed here in Florida buy us common people. But to sit back and do nothing but extoll the evil virtues of something never gets anything done.

I ask several of the Other GUN rights orginizations what they do to Train, or support , and all I got was "We dont get into that"

I would bet that if 80 million gun owners started getting together even by email to their congressmen and legislators sooner or later we are going to be heard.. But there are too many that set back and have the attitude they cant do anything about it so they will just cry in their beer and let someone else do it..

I am a PATRON member of the NRA and get a free magazine!

I belong because they, the NRA, run competitive shooting matches, set the rules and regulations and maintain records thereof.

You really need to separate the NRA from the scumbags in the NRA-ILA.
It is all part of the same organization, therefore, separation is impossible.

That is too bad, because the NRA does a real good job in the shooting sports and range areas.

Exactly, and the NRA is a UNION to boot!
