When I was a child, I thought as a child. But now that I am grown, I just wish I could act like a child and get away with it.
"Be careful or you'll shoot your eye out." Oh, wait that's just with a BB gun.
Seriously, be careful and have fun shooting.
Get the job done and come home safe guys.

Wish I was you, but then I wouldnt have as many guns as I have, never mind.[;)] You'll like reading posts here, just watch out for the cantakerous old farts that hang out here,[;)] they can be mean. Dont worry though, I've got your back. If pabooger comes around watch out, he flicks boogers at kids.[:0]

Take care of that quality 22 and it will last you a life time. Don't ever sell, trade or give it away. This rifle will mean more to you over your life than any other you may have. Doesn't it feel good to know that your dad trusts you and thinks you are mature enough to have your own firearm. He must be proud of you. It's up to you to honor that trust.

I can't imagine a better place for a new gun owner to land than right here.
Lots of knowledgeable folks here, but remember, all those stars next to some names only means that they probably spend more time posting "expert opinions" and engaging in mindless chit-chat than actually gaining knowledge about firearms and shooting.
In short, the stars mean SQUAT!!
[That many of our countrymen and our U.S. Supreme Court will support and even celebrate the porn peddlers Heffner and Flint while vilifying The Honorable Judge Roy Moore is testimony to the sewer our nation has become!]
I've been looking at one of these, the K10/22RPF, for a while, but have not gotten it.
Which one did you receive?
The 22LR rounds I use are CCI MiniMags, $3.50 per 100 online.
They seem to pop out of my Browning with a nice snap.
Do you have a favorite ammo?
Don't be afraid to ask any questions you have, a lot of smart people on here!

I am probably one of those cantankerous old farts (at times.)
I am REALLY glad to see young adults, like you, getting involved with firearms.
I am sure your dad has told you 1000 times about gun safety,
but you will have to put up with us telling you the same thing.
If you want to look up a question about guns (or just about anything)
Don't be afraid to use the "Search" feature, located in the top right corner of this page.
If you still do not find an answer, come back and ask about it.
The only stupid question, is the one you do not ask.
A lot of us old codgers have learned a thing or two here, I am sure you will too.

Do be careful here,
there are those who will tell you different,
but, you've got a great combo there.
A Ruger, and it's a 22.
Some of these old buzzards will tell you there's better brands,
they'll even try to get you to buy a bigger caliber. [;)]
You know your dad gave you that one for a reason.
It's about as good as it gets! [^]

Just kidding, I am still afraid to shoot a .338 Ultra Mag.
You have a nice gun and don't forget to eat what you kill. So I would shoot cans full of baked beans and such if I were you.
Welcome aboard.

I C&P this window's URL betwen the code you get when you hit the button, and voila, GB links to the URL and the picture appears.
When I started, I'd drag the photo off someone's web site, put it in a server, get the host server's url and use that one.
This new way is so much easier.
You might say I was posting it on Ruger's dime.
