    welcome. And listen to what wundudnee said about keeping THAT gun. My favorite christmas memory of all time was the christmas I got my .22. I was 14, it was a marlin bolt action with a 7 shot clip [:D]WOOOHOOOO!!!!!!Man! I am 33 now, and have the memory of an alzheimer's patient, maybe it was a savage, but I remember that christmas! If I had the gun, I'd know[V]. That day/week I was on cloud 9. Maybe it's at dad's still. Anyway, very nice weapon your dad got you. You must be a pretty darn good kid. Congratulations.

    I too am a new member here although I have been reading posts here
    for a while. Just never have felt the need to add my two cents worth.
    I do find the answers to a lot of my questions thanks to all of the
    members who do post. Even though I do own a few other pistols and
    rifles in larger cal. I still love to shoot my 10/22. Put about 200
    rounds through her yesterday. Take care of her and she will last you
    a lifetime.

    Welcome to the zoo! Being you are 13, check into your local 4-H program to see if they have a 4-H shooting sports program. I am a coach in Trap and Black Powder in 4-H shooting sports here in my home county. It is an excellent program for kids 8 to 19 to learn shooting safety and competition. Great place for your parents to get involved in as well. They always need new coaches. Enjoy your 22 but always keep safety in mind with an unloaded gun the same as you would a loaded one. Oh to be a teenager again. Your whole life is ahead of you. Again welcome aboard.
