Im sure there is more but I cant think of them right now. Im pretty well rounded although the "girly" ones I went to were for whatever lady that was in my life at the time.[:0]

    Lynyrd Skynyrd
    Dobbie Brothers
    Jethro Tull
    Eagles
    Uriah Heep
    Marshall Tucker Band
    ZZ Top
Uh, my memory is failing me. If they were popular in the early '70's, we saw 'em.
We used to go to at least two a month.
    Black Oak Arkansas
    Foghat
    Alice Cooper
There was a band that opened for other bands called Jo Jo Gunne. One of the best live acts I ever saw, and that's some tall company.Saw many country acts in the '80's.
Quit going when Boston, Cheap Trick, etc were popular.
Would liked to have seen Electric Light Orchestra and Allman Brothers (before Dwayne died.)
We wouldn't go if it wasn't festival seating. Always worked our way down front.

    Bad company
    Counting Crows
    Guster
    John Butler Trio
John Mayer (the rockin blues version)
Michael Kelsey x 4 and again this weekend

Going to se Joe Bonamassa and many others at the "Blues, Brews, and BBQ festival" in Ohio next Sunday.

Going to see Ezra play in July. Our company Picnic is at an amusement park on a lake about an hour north of here. We're going up with a few other couples the day before, renting a cabin, and going to see Ezra play at the skylounge right on the lake.

Probably see a couple other shows this year.

billy squier, foghat, j. geils band, ted nugent, van halen, ozzy, ac/dc, def leppard, whitesnake, black sabbath, david lee roth w/ steve vai, wingie malmsteen, metallica, scorpions, lynch mob (george lynch from dokken), journey, cannibal corpse, obituary, motley crue, zz top, styx, could have seen nirvana at the local bar I was going to but I didn't like the music at the time.

best concert was ac/dc. and frikkin' loud.
best guitarist was either steve vai or george lynch.
best drummer was jason bonham (john bonham's son) in Kingdom Come.
    best singer was david coverdale.

worst performance was metallica on the master of puppets tour. they needed to go back and practice some more, they just didn't have it together.

Thread topic made me think about the first concert I went to back in the '70's.

I was on a date in Athens, GA. While out having a meal we heard there was a concert later at the UGA Basketball Coliseum.

Some new guy, making the college circuit. So we decided to go.

Stood in line to buy a couple of 5 dollar tickets. It was general admission, so we had to stand in line to get inside.

I saw a UGA PD Cop I knew who let us in a side door. Beat some of the others inside and got a good seat.

    Oh yeah .....the concert artist?????

Just two. Bon-jovi in '88. And Fleetwood-mac. I believe in 89'. Fleetwood mac was basically broken up. Not very good at all. Probably did'nt play for an hour.

I guess I'm just different from the rest of you. My list:

    John Denver
    Statler Brothers
    Crystal Gayle
    Mac Davis
    A few others I can't remember - old age!

Side note: I have a friend who attended Texas Tech. Told about a new, young man who performed at the Student Union Building occasionally for a 25 cent admission fee. Name - John Denver! Believe me, I paid more than that to see him some years later.

We had a very active Student Body President that was able to get shows like Hullabaloo, Shindig, and Where the Action is to film shows at our small college in Arkansas (1964-1965). So, a few of the acts I was able to see included:

    The Ventures
    The Kingsmen
    The Animals
Frankie Valli and the 4 Seasons
    The Supremes
    Johnny Rivers
    Paul Revere and the Raiders
and many others I just don't remember.

July 4th, 1976 we saw Neil Diamond at the Aladdin Hotel's new 7,500 seat Theatre for the Performing Arts. It was the last show of his Bicentennial gig at the hotel and he gave us an extra 45 minutes. An incredible performance.

If you can't feel the music; it's only pink noise!

I used to go to concerts all the time.
The last I went to was at Lakewood Fairgrounds in Atlanta to see Crosby Stills and Nash.
We had to sit on the ground, when the band came out they were hard to see, they were so far away. I didn't know you needed to bring binoculars.
    The sound was so-so.
Then it started to rain and we had to go to the car for a half hour, then the rain stopped and we went back and watched the rest of the show.

Four of us went, cost $28 per ticket.
I thought, for $112 we could have bought 3 CSN CDs, several bottles of wine and a six pack of Heineken and some cheese and chips, and a big poster of the band.
You put that poster on the band in the living room, you can clearly see the musicians. You have some nice chow and booze and listen to top quality sound in comfort.

    That was my last concert.

Saw many "up and coming" bands at a little place north of Boulder called
    "Hidden Valley Ranch"

Many MANY concerts over the years.

Last one was Jethro Tull, Red Rocks, 71.
Didn't care for the "tear gas" though.

Can you believe, the high end, Madonna tickets are $354.00 this year? [:0][:0][:0]
