In the process of hunting, fishing or what ever I was wondering what is your favorite sound.
My two are the sound of a fly reel when a big brown is taking line and the first response to a turkey call in the spring.

Hunting, the rustling of the wind in the trees.
Not really. The sound of a party-music, laughing, a crackling fire(favorite).
whhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaammmmmmmmm ![:p]
I race sailboats.
When you have a boat tweaked down to the finest...when sails and boat are doing thier job to get the boat through the water with the highest VMG. When you have the balance just right, the boat takes on a sound or feel..it starts to humm almost. The waves slap against the hull and you feel it, but the boat powers on through.
Give me a day of 6 knots on a thirty foot racing boat and I am as happy as I can be.
do what? don
IT! You know... it![:D]
.....Ben, yep..the sound of a deer on leaves in otherwise dead silence makes the heart go into high gear......And select-fire, those peckerwoods can startle a guy sumpin' awful.
.....Might I add ....real good thunder. Especially when it's close and you hear the "sizzle" for a second, and then the flash and boom come at almost the same instant.
.....About the only nature sound that I hate is wind. It drowns out all the others.

A loon on a still / fog covered lake. Eeerie, but cool.
Good one. Made me remember the first time I heard Sandhill Cranes.
Thanks for the reminder.
Peepers at sunset. The flap of bat iwngs over my pool, chowing mosquitos.
I remember bats flying over our head while we were kids. My parents had a pool. They also had a security light in the distance. Seeing those bats fly around munching on moths is very cool. Have you ever thrown something into the air as a bat flies by? They'll circle it until it falls to the ground. Pretty cool how quickly they react.
