1. Ford did not sell out its bond-holders in an illegal distortion of the bankruptcy laws that was never prosecuted, but would have been without the cover of the Obama White House and Justice Department.
2. The 2016 Explorer as compared to the Honda Pilot:

4. If we are going to Make America Great Again, we need to assume some of that responsibility for ourselves, and not pass the buck to government. Jeep or Ford. Ditch the Honda.

I thought you were a Trump supporter, BSR.
I supporting Trump, you support tariffs to artificially increase the cost of imported products.
Someone is going to be making a sacrifice if companies are strong-armed into producing within the US.
We have a customer that has plants in the U.S. and in Mexico.
It costs them U.S. $ 6,000.00 per year per employee in Mexico and $ 60,000.00 per year in the US.
If we are going to insist upon US manufacturing, the consumer is going to have to step up and pay that difference. You cannot pick and choose because of price or quality when you have voted to put a tariff on imports.
It is too bad you are disappointed in your Chrysler. The bottom line is that if you want the same quality with a higher cost workforce, you are going to pay more money, accept cheaper materials, or both.
Time to pay up and live what we voted for. If we do not, we are just economic chicken-hawks.

Don, we also looked hard at the Explorer. Great features and performance. Price seemed incredibly high for the blue badge. The price with comparable features was similar to that in the Acura/Lexus/Infinity class. I guess we got a severe sticker shock on it that is/was hard to overcome. Coupled with the fact the vehicle size is approaching that of our current rig, and that one of the main goals was to get in to a smaller footprint, it just wasn't making sense for us. There were a couple small details that made it less attractive as well, such as the spacing between seatbelts in the middle position in the middle row of seats. My smallest daugther's hind end had to sit on both the adjoining click-ins??? There were a few little things like that that kept making me scratch my head.

Why not buy a Fiat 500? Same exact car with only a few body changes to the front end and they are about 10 grand cheaper.

Sorry, I have trouble spending that much $$ on something that just can't compare to the other brands. I won't own another new Harley, I gave Chryslet one more chance after the Dodge lemon truck and am dissapointed. I love Ford but I cannot swallow that price tag, GM, I will consider if I can get it without Onstar installed, I know it can be turned off but I do not want it even in the vehicle. Nissan, Honda, Toyota, BMW and a couple others assemble them here, more so than my MexCanadian Ram 1500

I have no problem with folks buying a foreign make that was built/assembled in the US. I do have a problem with folks that voted for Trump's stated goal of tariffs and then not paying up for their choice.
Folks who voted for Trump because he was going to bring jobs back to the US by strong-arming manufacturers with the threat of tariffs damn well better step up and support the American workers about whom they claim to care.
We expect 'do as I say, not as I do' from the Democrat and Republican base. We were told to expect better from the new wave represented by Trump. If it is going to be more of the same, please lets have Trump publically state it so we can poopcan his Presidency right now and not have to suffer through 4 years of this type of hypocrisy.

A good choice from a content standpoint as well. Apparently the Made in Lincoln Alabama Honda Pilot has greater American content than the Jeep you were looking at or the Ford Explorer.

We are tossing around the idea of trading the Ram 1500 in for a Nissan Pathfinder. I am so much dissapointed in that Ram, performance of the Hemi isn't anything to brag about, interior noise is rediculous, cab space for a 4 door is a joke unless everyone is under 5'6", 1" of snow cripples it, it is lousy on gas even babying it, I just don't like it. The more I look at those Pathfinders the more I like them and sadly, Ford has lriced me out of a F-150 or F-250, GM and Chryslet make an inferior product anymore and the Japanese vehicles afe the way to go. If this offends the brand loyalists so be it, tired of spending the cost of a new American vehicle only to be dissapointed.
New Pathfinder that looks like a mini-van or old Pathfinder that looks like a Nissan Frontier / Xterra?
If older boxy one w/ 4.0 v6 w/ an auto trans, check the radiator cap, they suffer from cross contamination - pink milkshake. My 06 Frontier shares the same engine and has the potential for that issue. No problems yet at 80k.
As a preventative measure, I plan to put a racing / offroad radiator in it plus a separate trans cooler.

No. The Renegade is built on the Fiat Mobi platform that is built and sold in Brazil. I do not think that Fiat imports the Mobi into the US yet.
Again why would someone think about spending $25K (Renegade Limted) on a car when the same car with Fiat badges and trim sells for just $13K USD in Brazil?

my youngest son has taken my wife's element to Knob creek Ky ( MG shoot ) several times told me he drove thru mud holes and slick areas the 4x4 trucks were stuck in and could not get thru he said it was amazing to see the truck owners just stair as he drove on thru ,,
the bad he always seemed to fail to clean all the mud and dirt after dropping it back off to us [:(!]

Maybe you need to look again.
But this time look at a Fiat 500x AWD.Maybe. First you said Fiat 500, now it's the 500x AWD... [:D][:D]Yeah, that's what he said, but look at the caption associated with his picture. [;)][:D]
Irregardless a Jeep Renegade is not remotely comparable to the vehicles he is looking at.
If this vehicle is for your wife - Honda Pilot.
If this vehicle is for you -
Jeep Wrangle Rubicon
Toyota Off Road Pro 4Runner / Tacoma
Nissan Pro4X
Ford F-150 / Raptor
Chevy Silverado / GMC etc.
I built a pretty badass V8 4Runner a while back. Lockers, 4" loft, 35s. Loved seeing the wife drive it. [:)]

We went with the Honda and are very happy with it. Your input was/is much appreciated.[:)]
A good choice from a content standpoint as well. Apparently the Made in Lincoln Alabama Honda Pilot has greater American content than the Jeep you were looking at or the Ford Explorer.
Just so you know, that was a consideration because of your incessant railings about it.[:D][:D] I kid. It was a consideration because of your influence, however.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain

No one I know is considering either of those.[^]

my youngest son has taken my wife's element to Knob creek Ky ( MG shoot ) several times told me he drove thru mud holes and slick areas the 4x4 trucks were stuck in and could not get thru he said it was amazing to see the truck owners just stair as he drove on thru ,,
the bad he always seemed to fail to clean all the mud and dirt after dropping it back off to us [:(!]
