As my user name says, "Use Enough Gun", Think of it this way, what would you want in your hands if 'things' went terribly wrong? I'd recomend the heaviest, largest caliber rifle you can ACURRATELY shoot. And then, PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE, and after you get pretty good with that rifle, PRACTICE!! some more. Dave

I for one am excited, because only with hunting will the animal re-learn a fear of man and anything that smells of him.

I think that the only ones that will learn fear of man will be the dead ones.

There are those here who get all sissified at the thought of killin a large animal. Don't even get on the subject of a big gator, the crybabies come out of the woodworks!!!!!

Your a moderator and you can call names? How about having a little respect for differing opinions, or is your opinion the only one that counts???

Still interested in goin after Griz & Polar Bear now? Both of these have been sent around the internet for a while-supposedly the Grizzly was killed when it charged a moose hunter. Shot at very close range with a 7mm Mag. I personally wouldn't go after Grizzly with anything less than a .300 Win Mag. MOST people have NO business trying to kill something that dangerous any farther than 300 yards. That far out the bullet drops quite a bit and a animal like that needs to be dropped. A miscalculated shot that far out could end up wounding it and pissing it off. You can still hunt Grizzly in Canada and AK -in AK I know you have to use a guide if you are not a resident. It ain't cheap either--on the low end it will probably run $9,000 and up.

As I stated in my earlier reply, use the biggest, heaviest caliber rifle you can shoot accurately. Having said that, my neighbor has the completely opposite opinion. All he has ever used on ALL game animals is a 250/3000. Ex Airborn, Master shot, phyically fit, doesn't get rattled under pressure. He's hunted all over North America, guided numerous people, and taken just about anything worth taking on this landmass. I've argued with him over firearms forever, he keeps coming back sucessful with his pipsqeak. Dave
