Walking out of Walmart the other day with a cart full of MY Legally Owned items. The early-20-ish guy near the door tells me he has to check MY legally owned possessions. I say " No thanks", and keep going out the door. He runs up, RUNS...., grabs the cart, and states again "I have to check your cart". I again say "No Thanks", and keep walking out the door.
Unfortunately, he had positioned himself so that he was in-line with the door jam, and got peeled off the cart as I went through the door.
I looked back at him and wished him a Happy New Year. He wasn't too thrilled. With the attitude he presented, I half expected him to follow me out the door. Luckily for everyone involved, he did not do so.
I have NO inclination to allow someone to paw through my personal possessions. I do NOT know them. I do NOT trust them.
If it's a REQUIREMENT that they paw through my possessions, then they need to post that policy at the entrance. IN BIG LETTERS. That way everyone will know what the requirements are (just like at SAMS club).
Now that you know it is policy, I would assume you will either discontinue shopping there, or submit to the inspection, correct?

The people that work there are plain out miserable....like zombies without the energy to chase you. Plus, knowing that they make special "lower quality" items just for Walmart stores....like Leupold scopes and such makes me question ALL of the items they have there.
If I need a lot of random bulk purchase things....detergent, TP, paper towels and such....I will run in there and get JUST that stuff and then drive down the road to Publix where they are smiling faces, a few hugs and the "Publix brand" items are actually better than the name brand things.
they do what they have to ,,,,they are working ...dont lower yourself to go there[:(!]

Out of curiosity, do you roll through DUI checkpoints because you haven't been drinking?
No Sir, I do not; I stop as required by the signs. I refuse to cooperate with them either, simply asking if I am free to go and refusing to answer any questions. It usually starts with where you been and where you going type junk; my pat reply is "it is none of your business".

As far as YOU putting me in jail, you wouldn't have a leg to stand on. Your internet-fueled bravado is noted, if only for the empty words.
Yuup - they ARE working and being of benefit to their employer. I have respect for every person who is supporting themselves instead of relying on the Gov't. I never said anything different.
I just absolutely refuse to have my possessions pawed through.
Hilarious!
There are 2 Market Walmarts and a Supercenter within a half mile of my home. The door dude (or dudette) never even looks my way when I go in, and nobody at all looks at me when I walk out.
There used to be a Smith's(Kroger for you Easterners) a 3 minute walk away, had a bank inside that kept getting robbed. It shut down because the store lost $275,000 every 6 months to shoplifting. The bank got tossed just before the store closed because the robbers made the store a dangerous place to be.
I enjoy parking at the Walmarts & watching the patrons exit the store.
It's better than cable!

Ohio law states that you are required to provide information regarding your identity and insurance while passing through a DUI checkpoint or you are subject to being detained until that information can be obtained.
I seriously doubt you have refused to answer any questions during the times you have been stopped, regardless of your answer here.

I decided I like our local Walmart about thirty years ago. They had just moved into the Supercenter Walmart from the little Walmart when we caught the edge of a hurricane that brought record floods and electrical outages.
They stayed open without electricity so you couldn't use a credit card. If you wanted to pay by check or if you had exact change in cash they would take your money. If you didn't have the right change or a check they let you take what you needed on a promise to pay later. They didn't even make of note of who you were. That's something I would expect from the Mom & Pop stores, but I was surprised to see Walmart do it.
I shop in Walmart a lot because the prices are right. About a year ago the greeters stopped me almost every time. I got really tired of it and said "Do I look like a thief to you" and kept walking out door. If they responded with "It's our policy" I replied "Dumb" and walked out the door. Then they stopped using the greeters for a long time. Recently they started up again and I responded the same way and walked out the door. Now I think they know me and are very nice to me. They no longer stop me.

My bad sorry so to clarify, I will be happy to give them my license and proof of insurance through a window down about two inches. I will not answer their questions. I was only stopped twice at check points and do not remember being asked anything beyond "where you coming from/where you going" and "have you had anything to drink" My reply "was none of your business" and "water." He called over his cutie pie supervisor and she went through the same BS lines and questions he had asked. I looked her in the eye and said, "am I being detained, am I free to go". She gave me a gold star on my report card for the dash and let me go on home.
You buy and pay for things in the store. You remove every item from your cart and place it in front of the cashier who rings it up. Those things now belong to you. If the store owners think you may somehow put more items in your cart after going thru checkout, they should build the store so that after checking out, you can only go thru the exit. The pointless procedure of looking in your cart, which now contains your items in bags mostly, is asinine.
I know, from talking to employees of not only WalMart, but other such stores, that most of the theft is by employees. That's their problem, not mine.
