According to our newspaper yesterday 74% of NRA members support back ground checks.
Does not surprise me in the least.

Actually, everytime a felon is denied from buying a firearm a crime is prevented, the Federal crime of a felon buying a firearm.

I have had felons denied at my shop. Including my own brother. Common here is felony DWI's, the state will give you back your right to own a gun, but the Feds still deny the NICS.

Good thing we criminalize victimless behavior.

I don't support them in any form but am forced to abide by the law until such time as the law can be changed. We just lost on BGC's for private party transfers in WA. Just heard on the Radio there's a bill in the Oregon legislature to do the same there (FFL required for almost all transfers/sales). Call your Reps!

Yes you do. The FEDERAL form is filled out, you are called in to check if you are on the terror watch list. Every car you buy, you will sign a form saying you are not a terrorist, they will check every time too.

Obviously, I should have specified, that I meant actual crime, not made up ones.
Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain

I disagree with you. DWI is not a victim-less crime. Drunk drivers kill and injure people everyday in America. Driving drunk risks not only your own life but also the lives of every other person on the road.

I would if there was a way to determine once you have been checked you don't need to keep being checked.

Such as Oregon I have my Concealed but still have to be checked each and every time.

But how often is the data base changed if a person does become a felon, is established that they are not mentally competent. Has a court ordered restraining order against them.
So if you have already been cleared and one of the above has happened to you what then.

So I guess my answer is really NO I do not support background checks cause the system is flawed.

I believe he was calling gun ownership a victimless crime, not DWI.
