Mom's reasoning is just like they give them in school. Regardless what their child does.. they are not wrong and it is always someone else's fault the child acted that way. We don't carry a toy gun and fire warning shots. It's the real world. Mom's problem.. she wasn't paying attention to who her little boy was hanging out with. And where was the " baby daddy "?
while I might agree with the mother as to the fact that any loss of a child is heartwrenching. Now as to the man that killed the would be robber now has to live with knowing he took a life. As for the robber who was slain god only knows if he wouldve turned his life around. My guess is probably not now as to his accomplices its a sure bet that at least one of them will change thier ways. I wouldn't say both as it is more likely that one is likely to be scared straight and the other is more likely to have been hardened by the event. I dont know the whole story but had anyone have captured the robbers they would have just learned how to be better robbers in prison with our terribly flawed justice system.
If the victim had fired a warning shot, what then? The perps run off and decide that for their next robbery they better be armed. Then the next victim gets robbed AND shot. This gentleman acted properly in the situation he faced. I hope he doesn't second guess himself or his actions.
I walked and biked that trail may times.
That was at Stone Cliff along the Schuylkill river in Reading, Pa.
I still walk there in the summer when I'm in the area.
It was always bad there. They uses to have police on bikes patrolling the trail.
I use to take the kids fishing there, never had problems but heard a lot of bad stories.
When I lived in Reading that kid wasn't born yet.

THAT is correct. Gotta nip it in the bud. This thug had already been left alone too long. His parents are equally at fault.
a warning shot couldn't you just wing him like they do in the movies?quote:Originally posted by forgemonkey

And how much of a 'warning' did the perps give the victim ?????[:(!]

On warning shots...
After the bomb hit Nagasaki, the cry arose:
"Why didn't you warn them??"
We did warn them. The warning was Hiroshima. Nagasaki was the warning that Tokyo was next if they didn't stand down. They finally got it.
Warning shots are for TV.
On the dead kid...
He played a rough game. He lost. Might as well finish your coffee.

It's being willing. I found out early that most men, regardless of cause or need, aren't willing. They blink an eye or draw a breath before they pull the trigger. I won't. ~ J.B. Books
Some of you PA residents, is it poissible to send this whole thread to the gentleman shooter? It might help him to deal with what happened. If I were him, I might be upset about what happened...

...then again, I might not.
I'm sure he's got enough people to deal with at the moment. The mother seems to too as the internet speaks its mind.

They should thank Him for saving the County countless Dollars in Court costs and Prison costs.
Matter of fact the Family should be made to pay for the Bullet.

River Rat, it happened to me, and I only lost sleep talking to the cops.
Sleep like a baby.
Understand, property and money mean a good deal more to me than some stranger who is attempting to harm my family, and steal my property.
I'm with you, Earl. If I make the decision to shoot, I have already made the decision to not be bothered by it.

At 16, he probably had not reproduced yet.
That is questionable... They breed like rats!

As a human being he deserved better parenting than she obviously chose to give.
