Has anyone ever given you a nickname or have you given someone else nickname? I'm thinking of giving my grandson one, Ohso. Which is bear in spanish or just bear. He reminds me of a little bear, the way he moves around and makes baby sounds.

What is your nickname and how did you get it?

Mine is Dutch. I grew up in Lakewood,Ohio in the Slovak neighborhood. The old timers new that Germans were called Deutsch. Since I was the only "German" kid in the neighborhood they called me "Deutsch" which sounded like Dutch. Still called Dutch. [^]

I go by BUG to my friends - here's how: I am often at kite flying competitions on beaches all over the world. Each day, we have to put up our canopies, so we may not be in the same place day-to day on the beach. I got to telling folks to look for/ask for "The Big Ugly Guy", becasue there may be some big fellows, and there may be some unhandsome men, but if you ask anyone where the "Big Ugly Guy is, they will most often, point to me. It seems to work really well.

I especially like telling this to kids who come up - I let them fly my kites, and have fun with them. When they go back to their Moms, they always tell her "The Big Ugly Guy....." and then the Mom remonstrates them "DON'T CALL ANYONE THAT!" Then the kid gets frustrated - great fun!!

Anyways, some friends started calling me BUG, and it stuck.

"Twig" from my figure, or considerable lack thereof, depending how you look at it, when I was younger...

"Dr. Dre", dubbed that by my former coworkers, due to my vast knowlege of child development information, plus the third thru fifth letters of my first name....

"Zoot" from my love of "Monty Python and the Holy Grail." She was the babe who lived in the Castle Anthrax, with her same-and-identical twin sister, Dingo (which is my best friend's nickname).

Beef, cause I ain't too small.

Dinger, My buddies gave me that one, Cause if I could see it, I could hit it.

The rest a would probably get censored(Hehehe) so I won't even bother!

When I was in high school everyone in gym class had to have their last names stenciled onto their gym clothes. Now my last name (which is not Kristov) is a real piece of work and after taking a look at it the gym teacher simply took a big letter K and painted it on my gym clothes. From that point on "K" became more or less my nickname.

I got a friend with a good nickname is called Lilkracker cause she is short and her last name starts with Ritz. (really surprised at myself for remembering that one) I always smell my food before I eat Hence why I never accidentally eat something spoiled and if it doesnt smell great I wont touch it.

Ha, no one at work has seen it, seems every female at work is attracted to me, that's why they call me that. It's an assumption.

Thats what my nickname should be I have the wierdest eyes. halfway between blue and green on the outside with a large yellow ring in the center. As a matter of fact the first time I was pulled over for a traffic stop the cop noticed it and thought I was high or something.

On a sidenote Cubslover I cant blame you there if I had a nickname like that id go with it. Although I did hear something like that once a girl in bradford thought she saw me in a movie once and my name in the movie was Long-Don Slivers. A total crock of crap but funny nevertheless.

    Long Don Silvers. That's funny.

I've been called "tripod". For the life of me, I don't know why. Joe
