I go in for the hernia job first thing in the morning, so Friday I should have some great narcotic induced posts!

I am more than a little nervous as I have never been put to sleep. At least not by an anesthesiologist!

Wish me luck you sentimental ba$tards!

Been knocked out twice by anesthesia. Sodium penathol.. count to ten.. well you won't make it to ten. Always had a nice looking nurse give it to me. Lord knows what goes on in the operating room. Safe journey and quit drooling while you asleep.

Hang in there boss! I'll send some messages to the "man upstairs" in your behalf.

I have on the other hand been "put under" several times and all were not a problem at all. It was actually pretty nice. They give you the "cocktail" in your IV (as the mose recent nurse put it), and then you wake up. [;)]

Just don't jump up when you wake up.....everything might fall out![:D][:o)]

Just kidding Mateo![;)] Best wishes and check in when you can.[^]

Geez - i hope you told them you were a store clerk, or a preacher, or a thief, or murderer, or something other than a lawyer.[;)]

Not that I have anything against lawyers, but i hear they usually come out with more bruises and such....

The $5000 is for the surgery. The drugs are free.

FYI Mateo, the new preferred cocktail is Versed and Fentanol. I've had it many times and It almost makes you want to go back for more (surgery, that is).[:)]
As a sidenote, don't trust any doctor who does a "rear end" exam with both hands on your shoulders.[:D]

    Jeff

While I'm there, can I just go ahead and opt for a full mesh abdomen? Will it stop a 9? Will it look like I have a six pack? Can you see the mesh through the skin, and if so, how big is the weave?

Is it OK to get really drunk and show up for surgery? Should I wear scrubs in order to fit in?

What shoes does one wear with scrubs? Should I shave all personal areas ahead of time?

Do you tip? If so what is the standard? How do you tip while out, in advance or after when you settle up?

These are the things I ponder...

I had a hernia operation last April...got the mesh.

Hang in there, don't be nervous, everything will turn out fine.

BTW, the pain hits around 12 hours after the procedure, so you may not be posting on Friday.
