He definitely needed to go. But I bet he knows enough to get a book deal out of it.

    Watch your back, Comey.

His whining and wringing of hands in front of the Senate committee no doubt sealed the deal.

The 'poor me, look what I had to do' approach made him look like a spineless idiot. Best he is gone.

Great. Trump must of had reasons for not acting sooner

Now its time to fire Ryan and McConnell--I realize there being elected cant be fired, but he can kick them down the road. They have been back dooring him prior to the election and forward.

Every time I see either one of these guys plus Ryan's buddies (Silico and McCarthy (sp) I think of the Mafia guys sitting around the TV thinking they would go to jail for things these guys do

If he doesn't have a waiting period he will get a huge advance for a book. I hope Trump hires a real law dog to replace him. Maybe someone from the Texas Rangers the real premier law enforcement agency in the U. S.

He has so much potential dirt on so many...

Most likely it will be someone you've never heard of.
A counter-intelligence expert that has plotted and traced terrorism for the past 20 years with hardly a smudge on his record.
Someone whose dedication and patriotism is beyond reproach.
I do hope he draws the guy from the FBI and not another agency.
    Less hurt feelings that way.

The DEMOCRAT slime in the media is in total meltdown and a cow to boot over Comedy being fired. Should be absolute assurance Trump did the right thing. The FBI needs cleansing.

Never thought much of Comedy. A combination of an Obama sycophant and a partisan hack. Good riddance.

Yea I spelled his name right.

He really needed to go. Last week's testimony was terrible. Comey is better than John Kerry for talking and supporting both sides of an issue. He's a career bureaucrat. Loretta Lynch put him in a terrible position where his best to options were quite or eventually get fired. He lost the respect of the FBI agents.

    Trey Gowdy for FBI Director.

    Parallel to Bubba Clinton.
Comey is only the second FBI Director ever to have been fired. The first was William S. Sessions, who was fired by President Bill Clinton in 1993,

A President can't fire the Supremes. He wanted to pack the court with as many Justices as necessary to give him a majority.

    Odd timing.

It's all in who does the judging and makes it's stick and so far it's not The progressives but then it's all business from the same coin just a different side.

Just think why was JFK assassinated? Because it stuck. Those bouncing bullets mean nothing for it was just one shooter! Don't you think?

Sessions recused himself from a specific investigation, not his job. He is still the man in charge of the Justice Department.

Don't really understand why people are questioning the timing of this.

Comey reported to Rosenstein. Rosenstein has only been seated for two weeks. Rosenstein reviewed Comey's record and recommended he be replaced.

    Sessions agreed.

    Trump agreed.

    Comey was fired.

Should Sessions have acted before Comey's direct supervisor was seated? Should Rosenstein have put up with a person in whom he did not have confidence for a politically acceptable amount of time?

The bottom line is that Comey caved to the pressure put upon him by Obama/Lynch and covered her * by recommending against prosecution. That act showed that he could be manipulated by political considerations and was/is unfit for the position. One can make the argument that Sessions should have acted sooner, but we know the political hysterics that would have sparked.

Mayhaps I missed what is specifically odd about the timing. Care to elaborate?

I sense there will be a new conclusion to the Hillary investigation.
The Democrat Congress and Chuck Shummer have been out foxed. Hillary may take an extended vacation in Russia.

He is seen by the left as radical, putting Trey into Trumps team would ruffle feathers of mega proportions and cause so much grief. Trump is smart to keep him on the side, to do otherwise may backfire.

Weak. Almost as good as calling me a Nazi. Perhaps you weren't old enough to vote for Nixon as I did. Nixon embarrassed me as a Republican. What he did as our POTUS is beyond any reasonable excuse, he was a criminal in his actions. Period. Nixon's attempt to thwart off being caught by ordering the firing of Archibald Cox, the special prosecutor is technically what brought Nixon down. Trumps actions reek of similar circumstances. [B)]

Not quite, firing a Special prosecutor of Congress is different then firing a department Chief under Trump's administration! Trump would be foolish however if he did what Nixon did,but he does act in some ways like Nixon when saying I have not been under investigation three times in his firing letter! Nixon said I am not a crook many times but we the people know better!

Comey stepped on his crank and was fired. Nixon stepped on his crank and fired people.

    A significant difference, IMO.
