quote:I bet you could get 6000 loose .22 rounds in a 50 cal can.
I bet you can, 5,000 loose rounds leave quite a bit of room...but Im not emptying any cans to count...[:D]
Some all day rain event and I might weigh some out and see exactly how many loose rounds a can will hold & post it.
I just spent 24? each for some 5" x 5" 200lb cardboard boxes to ship loose .22 rounds IF I decide to sell some, probably wait until they get really high next go round, no hurry, no need.
I have plenty for me, my daughter and all 5 grandkids...[:D]
quote: I can't remember for sure but I think my bil put 430 shotgun shells in a 50 cal
[:0] I think you need to recount...or I do. My 20mm cans that are a LOT bigger (14" x 14" x 6" aprox.) wont hold but around 200 shells, I think, thats a mix of 2 3/4"...3"....and 3 1/2", then some are dedicated to just one size each, so I really have no idea.[:D]
Dang, have me wondering just how many shells I do have in one 20mm can, going to have to go count a can now...[;)]
why do some people wait till the prices of a certain object goes sky high then complain about it ? a buck each ? haaaaa ! you got ripped off !! [:D] i got my 25 .50 cal cans free along with 8, 20mm cans.., just one of the many, many little "Bennies" for serving in the NavalAir.

it might be wrong. It's been 15 years, but the had them stacked in just perfectly. I don't have time for that sort of stuff. But I remember it being far more than i ever thought it would be. I guess 430 is 17 boxes, so there is no way it was that high.

I didn't wait, I am just out. I bought A LOT of ammo the past 3 years prior to Shady Hoke... Just now getting it put in cans.
