What profession would you choose?
How would you spend your "labor" hours of the day?
Would you change it at all?

I believe I would have gone more creative. Musician or artist perhaps. Perhaps an artisan skilled trade like custom built guitars.
I think I would move towards the arts as well.... cool.

I would have requested mast in 1980 to protest being made a supply clerk. I had the highest score on the DLAT of anyone who had taken it at Indianapolis AFEES at that time. I should have gone into the 02 field and learned Arabic or some other towel head language but I wasn't given the test again in boot camp.

As a guy who spent more than a year in language school learning Arabic, please believe me when I say that whatever you did with your life is far more enjoyable than the *-pain I endured learning the language you would have probably hated!

I would have gone into banking
Why do you desire to be hated by so many?

Your glasses will be ready in about a week.
Please pay my assistant on the way out."
The only profesion that you can lie to folks ,or be wrong half of the time and get paid 6 figures for it.
Or an auctioneer, for same reasons.
I would have been a diesel fitter.
If I recall correctly that's a job for D.F.Ns.
Just like a Ho Dee Doe man.
Second choice; Undercover investigater......not for sure spelling teacher[:D]
Personally....that's a whole different story.[;)]
Given more, taken less!
I have all the education and professional certifications I could need, I am on the very leading edge of a growth industry that will boom beyond my retirement, and I really enjoythe challenges, successes, and setbacks of my job.
It is vey demanding and I have to be careful not to ever let work come before my family.
Subsistence-farmer, hunter-gatherer, trapper, ridge-runner, moonshiner, and liberty-pamphleteer, living in a remote area.
A rugged-individualist, as it were.

One of the biggest career mistakes I made was letting my mom talk me out of joining the Marines 3 days before I was scheduled to go for my physical.
I would have probably put in 20 years then joined the FD for career #2.

The hostages were still in Iran when I was in boot camp. I couldn't believe the Corps sent me to supply school instead of Monteray.
When Carter's rescue mission failed, I told everyone who would listen that if it had been an all Marine team they would have succeeded. [:D]

my in-laws own a Funeral Home...business comes in spurts, and they do a lot of "welfare" funerals that end up costing them money.
shockingly, the ones that they make no money off of, are the customers that are the most demanding, and unappreciative.
