In my couple of abortive attempts at college, I studied Cultural Anthropology. I wish I"d have stuck wit that. The problem with the "do-over" theory is that, unless my 20-year-old self knew what my 50-year-old self knows, I'd probably just make the same stupid mistakes I did then.

I don't know. if I think about it everything sucks. even "fun stuff" turns into suckiness when you're forced into doing it every day whether you feel like it or not for a living. except possibly music. would have rather gone to music school and been a badass rock star guitarist like John Petrucci or Darryl Abbot. I'm sure I could have done it. that sure aint going to happen now.

    I never heard of them.

    What bands are/were they in?

I would go into the funeral business...

my in-laws own a Funeral Home...business comes in spurts, and they do a lot of "welfare" funerals that end up costing them money.

shockingly, the ones that they make no money off of, are the customers that are the most demanding, and unappreciative.

My sister-in-law was a deadbeat and an idiot, so I wasn't that surprised that the funeral home owner who handled my brother's funeral was concerned he wasn't going to get paid. What did annoy me is when he hit me up for his money immediately after the service, as I was driving off to go to the cemetary to bury my brother.

Legally I had no responsibility for the bill whatsoever, nor did I ever tell the guy I'd take responsibility, but it was a tiny town where we used to live and he figured I was the only one in my family who could pay him. I was annoyed at the guy, and told him as I backed out of the parking lot "Why don't you let us get my brother in the ground, then we can talk about your bill."

I've kinda liked this run; think I'd do it again!

If you can't feel the music; it's only pink noise!

exactly. id love the oppurtunity to go back and sit with my 12 or 13 year old self and try to talk some sense into him(me). maybe even a little earlier, but thats about when i started to slide academically.

with better marks in high school, i might have gone on to a decent premed program, then med school, and be into my residency by now. clearly, i went in another direction.

i wouldnt change much else. i think our choices are what makes us who we are and going back and changing every little decisions youve ever made to benefit you cant be good. id like to change that one major thing, but everything else can stay.

hard to say, I never had any big career goals as a kid. I sucked at advanced math.

I tried allot of jobs and really enjoyed fishing in Alaska but I wore out my body at a young age in that profession
I wanted to be a teacher for awhile but I know I would say the wrong thing to the wrong kid and end up being sued and sumarily fired.
Looking back, I can think of jobs I would make more money at but I cannot think of one that I enjoy more or allows me to do what I really like which is to talk with people.
In short, I am happy to be a salesman

I would have stayed in the Army retired after 25 years and then would have taken a civilian job with the Army and stayed working at APG.

Wouldn't change a thing. Naval Aircrewman, Ordnanceman, Pawnbroker. I did stuff most people can only read about. Traveled the world over, played with BIG stuff and had a great time doing it and STILL having a good time![:p]

Since everything happens as a result of something before it, I probably wouldn't change anything. I have a great wife and two beautiful successful daughters. Since I met my wife because of my academic and career decisions, going back and changing any of those would prevent me from having the good things I have today. [:D] It would be like the "time quake" or "paradox" effect. [:D]

I would become a post office
    worker,then I wouldn't have to work,
I'd collect a great pension and
    have wonderful bennnies.
Then I'd retire work for a few yrs and
    collect social Security.

I played in a Post office cribbage league
for 17 yrs and you can't imagine what they
    get away with.

Worked big construction jobs for almost 40 years, now a gun dealer but maybe should have been a piano player in a whore house - would have been more fun and no rain outs.

Still Happy as as welder, But my true passion back in the 80's was being a mechanical assembler/Equipment test tech. But that's long gone over seas.

Good part is, I knew what used to be all rolled into one job, would branch out and I took the wise trail that could not be out sourced 100%

I would have gotten into computers when I had the chance. Most likely programming.
