Oh you poor people in your zippy little cars!!!

Try getting in a busy one with an 80,000# truck, aint happening because CAR DRIVERS WON?T LET US IN!! On the double lane ones you have to take both lanes or braindead car drivers will squeeze right beside you forcing you to hit the curb or sideswipe thier *!! Merging, you all know the rules!! The truck the truck you merge in front of the damned truck!! Force him to slow or stop, you?re more important anyway!!!

The only way to enter a traffic cirlcle with traffic with a truck is to cut someone off, if forced to stop before entering it becomes a nightmare because at some point you have to go and that means from a dead stop into traffic bringing the entire circle to a crawl or stop. I forget which state it was but they had to pass a law giving trucks right of way because of this very issue.

Ok, back to being an * [:D]

Remingtonoaks. Believe it or not, using your blinker to make a turn in Nevada is no longer a Law! I have no idea why they did that but they did.

After looking up Nevada Traffic codes, you're right, I don't believe it. Here they are as follows

NRS#8194;484B.413#8194;#8194;Requirements for turning on highway; signal for stopping or decreasing speed.
1.#8194;#8194;A driver shall not turn a vehicle from a direct course upon a highway unless and until such movement can be made with reasonable safety, and then only after giving a clearly audible signal by sounding the horn if any pedestrian may be affected by such movement and after giving an appropriate signal if any other vehicle may be affected by such movement.
2.#8194;#8194;A signal of intention to turn right or left, or otherwise turn a vehicle from a direct course, shall be given continuously during not less than the last 100 feet traveled in a business or residential district and not less than the last 300 feet traveled in any other area prior to changing the course of a vehicle. This rule shall be observed, regardless of the weather.
3.#8194;#8194;A driver shall not stop or suddenly decrease the speed of a vehicle without first giving an appropriate signal to the driver of any vehicle immediately to the rear.
    (Added to NRS by 1969, 1494; A 1973, 1327) ?? (Substituted in revision for NRS 484.343)

NRS#8194;484B.417#8194;#8194;Signal by hand and arm or signal lamp or device authorized.#8194;#8194;Any signal required by chapters 484A to 484E, inclusive, of NRS to be made by a driver when making a turn or a stop must be given either by means of a hand and arm or by a signal lamp or signal device of a type approved by the department, except if a vehicle is so constructed or loaded that a hand and arm signal would not be visible both to the front and rear of the vehicle, the signals must be given by a signal lamp or signal device.

They are a hell of a lot better than a 4 way stop. I hate the 4 way stop signs worse than anything on the road except maybe the idiots that don't know how to use a roundabout. Probably the best way to make a roundabout work smoothly is to put up stop signs then everybody would run them instead of stopping for the yield sign.

Timid people, those more apt to hit the left pedal rather than the right are the issue in traffic circles. For the life of me I will never understand why folks get all mind bent over the theory of merging with traffic.

Kind of like those folks that stop on the on ramp and in the merge lane. Do they think traffic is going to stop to let them in? They cause accidents.

If Traffic is below a threshold, Traffic Circles save Gas, Wear and Tear on vehicles, and save time for all who pass.

But, when traffic gets dense enough, Everybody gets Ticked Off and things get NASTY!

I hate them when Traffic is heavy, and avoid them.

But when Traffic is light, they are Fun!

Yep the one in Clearwater Beach Fl on the west end of SR 60 is a parking lot.

Yup been on that one, what a cluster fluck.

I was up in Oshkosh Wisconsin last Tuesday.
I had a very emotional and special surprise meeting planned at a retirement home 1 mile from my hotel.
I didn't want to be late, so I took a "dry run" to be sure I could find my destination.
I had to navigate 3 round a bouts in about 1/4 mile! Two of them also included entrances to the expressway!
    I took an Uber.

The only reason to have a "circle" is because they don't have the money to do it correctly.

The Houston area has been removing "traffic circles" for the last 40 years. Believe there is only one remaining and it in a industrial area.

They were the cause of many accidents. The insurance companies should have chipped in a few bucks.

I recall waiting to take my professional engineering exam. In the lobby was a fellow set to take his for Civil Transportation. We got into a discussion about traffic circles. Let's just say he left the discussion with a newly appreciated loathing for them, whereas prior he had been indifferent.

If I ever win mega millions, you'll know where to find me: I'll be on the D9 out removing all the traffic circles I can find.

Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
